Just getting ready to head to bed. I looked at our Alexa and I asked her, "Alexa are you happy here?"

Alexa, "I'm very happy. WOOHOO!"

Nice going to bed knowing I have a happy AI. :D

Having one of my “lucid” days, where my brain is alert and functioning, I feel energetic, and perfect balance, tonality, etc. I only have one or two days like this a month now. So it’s fantastic. I have to be in court at 1 PM, and then the office. No worries.

Went shopping with Alexa this morning. We've been working with the feature that keeps a list for us. For the last few days when one of us thought of something we needed, we just asked Alexa to add it to our list.

I could see the list on my phone and we could ask Alexa to tell us what was on the list. OK, that may like the height of laziness or just an excuse to play with a new toy. Now consider that my wife has limited vision. For her to put something on paper means letters a couple inches high. For her to just tell an AI has been so freeing.

So, off I went to the store, phone containing our list. Our paper list used to be organized to just follow the aisles. I was prepared to have to jump around a lot. Wrong! Alexa had things on the list organized along the store's layout. I zipped right through the list. As an item went in the cart, I touched the box next to the item and ZIP, it went into the completed list.

Only snag...we got to the check out line and I told Alexa I forgot my wallet and would she pay. "Sorry Bob, I don't know that command." :emot_laughing:

Bob, you need to start a tutorial page for all Alexa has to offer.

What made my day.....

Well, something funny actually.   We went to the movies today.   She Came To Me starting Anne Hathaway, Peter Derklage and Marisa Tormei.
It was a little weird, but they were such kooks, I just was laughing at each series of events as they unfolded.

The real comedy came after the movie.  I had my empty popcorn bag to Dan to get a refill (1 free refill), while I went to the bathroom.  When I come out of the bathroom and as I walk toward concessions, I see Dan talking to the manager at the back of concessions.   We're regulars and when there is nobody at concessions, these two chatter on like a couple of old ladies.  (No offense to elderly women here).   Anyways as I get closer, I hear Dan say, "She Came."

The manager at 12 feet behind the counter, refilling our popcorn bags says "She Came?"

Dan looks at his ticket and says in response, "Yep, She Came!"

The manager gets a weird look on his face and says again, "Really, She Came?"

Dan says, "Yep, She Came."

There are two women standing 5 feet behind Dan that are looking disgusted.  As Dan walked toward me I asked, "What was that all about?" While noticing the two women looking from Dan to the manager with disgust.

Dan answered, "Nick asked what movie we came to see today, I told him, and he didn't recognize the name, which was weird."

I said, "It is SHE CAME TO ME!  What's weird is you two yelling 'SHE CAME' over and over."

He said, "Oh.  Yeah, that would be weird.  Well, when he asked, I had to look at the ticket because I didn't remember the name."

He then pulled the ticket out and showed me.

Sitting reading my Kindle this morning.
It started as darkness, both inside and outside.
The sun slowly casting light onto the trees outside the windows.
The leaves are changing.
It's so beautiful.
My favorite color in the world is Fall.

The last several days had some made my day moments so I'll start with the weekend.

Saturday I drove an hour south and Shannon drove an hour north, and we met at this small town. We've done this plenty of times before. Amanda was working, and unable to join us. We talked about everything. I told her about what happened in the store, which is the main reason for the trip.  I told her the whole story and after some tears, she cheered me up like she has always done, and we started laughing and having a good time. We usually do some shopping or catch a movie, but we just stayed at your cafe for hours. Had lunch, and I got a sandwich to go.

Sunday I went to Allan's parents again to watch the bears game with them. No jerseys or team colors for me this time. We went really early and watched a game before the bears even played, but I forget who it was. I spent quite a bit of time talking with his mother on the kitchen away from the men, and I ended up telling her, because I'm terrible at hiding it when I'm upset or not feeling myself, and she asked what was wrong a few times. She gave me what I can only describe as the most motherly hug I've ever felt, and I believe that made me cry more than retelling what had happened. I didnt want that hug to stop. Anyways, the game was exciting right up till the end. The guys were whooping and jumping around thinking it'll be a win, but nope, not this time.

When we got back to Allan's place, we just relaxed on the sofa watching some weird show on Prime where this girl can control blood and turn it into weapons... I dont know I wasn't paying much attention. As we watched, Allan grabbed me and muscled me over to him and just held me. I had received a PM from a loved KB member and since I read it, it was all I wanted, and now it was happening. He just wrapped me up and held me.  I cried so damn hard, at the same time, I felt so very comfortable and so very safe. He never asked me anything, or tried to "fix it", he just held me. The only thing I remember him saying was something like "whatever this is you're stronger than it and you're gonna be ok". I ended up falling asleep leaning against him.

Monday was a bit of a downer as the police came by my place of work to ask me some more questions. I didnt really appreciate that, and asked of they could have just called me. They needed me to look through some photos, and I believe one of the half dozen pics was the one who grabbed at me, but I'm nor 100% sure. He asked if I wanted to show up to one of this kids court dates and see if it really was him. I dont want to see these people ever again. I can't face them know what they did. So instead I wrote out a victim statement  that they can use in court even if he wasn't the person who assaulted me. So monday was a bit of a backwards step but I traded E-mails with Watcher, so that was a plus.

Tuesday me and a couple coworkers drove to door country to look at all the beautiful autumn foliage. It was supposed to be peak colors last week, but that week of 90s in late September threw everything off, and it was absolutely gorgeous there. We did some winery happing, did some shopping at the small shops, and had dinner in fish creek. On the way home I stopped and picked up some local made whiskey and a charcuterie board for Allan. It was just an all around awesome day that ended perfectly on top of him.

Today I'm cleaning my apartment... ugh

Smile and teared up a bit, and just happy overall that things are better.

Hugs are the best.  I can never get enough. I know they don't fix everything, but they sure help a lot in the moment.  And I never want them to end either.
Love you.   >>>>>>HUG<<<<<<<<

My ex, Russian number one, called and asked if I would have lunch with her. She is the mother of my Phi Beta Kappa honor student.

She recently split up with the tennis instructor that she left us for, and she wanted to talk about her new, romantic interest. A financial advisor, who is still married to the same woman he had three kids with.

It was a really awkward occasion. I’m happy, if she’s happy, but hell, she’s not even receiving child support from the tennis instructor yet. And her new boyfriend has been paying child support and alimony for years, with no resolution. In other words, they both have a lot of unfinished business that would suggest waiting to start a new relationship.

It looks like a train wreck in slow motion from where I’m standing. But there’s no telling her anything. She’ll rush in where angels fear to tread.  Proven that more times than I can remember. We’ve known each other for 23 years. We lived together for 15 of those. She said, “you know me better than anyone.“ I simply said, “that’s right.“ I didn’t dare tell her what I think.

The guy is 6’4” tall, so all I can figure is he has a monster cock and she can’t wait to get some. She told me she hasn’t been properly laid in seven years. Coincidentally, we split up seven years ago. LOL.

Remember the client I was bitching about? She had some 2 Liter soda bottles fall on her foot at a local retailer. We call that a “falling merchandise” case. I sued everybody, they removed it to Federal court. In the end, it looks like she had about $1500 in medical and would you believe it? I got her $30,000 today. Holy fuck. That’s 20 times her medical bills. That never happens in this business.

I got a little drunk (yeah, LOL) watching football and baseball last night, so I ordered groceries on the app (I was hangry) for delivery this am. And all the food was on the porch this morning. So lots to chose from and I don’t have to go through the hassle of walking the aisles, self checkout, bagging, carrying stuff to the car and into the house. Cost for delivery? $7.39. No tipping allowed. A bargain.

Lucky. Here wal-mart has a limit on how much you can order. But it is a nice thing to have when my cookie stash is gone before I even put the packages down. You sir are a true gentleman of Leisure.

We have a grocery chain in Texas called H-E-B, which is short for the H. E. Butts Co.  So yes, I grocery shop at Butts.

Anyway, they have absolutely made an art form out of quality groceries at low prices. 1000% better than Walmart or Safeway or Albertsons.

They started curbside delivery when Covid hit, and it is fabulous. You just order your selections on line, and they will bag it all for you and just drop it in your car, when you arrive at the store. FOR FREE. Again, no tipping allowed.

For folks like Bob, with mobility issues, the inexpensive delivery option is a god send. Just be sure to tell them you like your avocados ripe, or you will get a green rock. LOL.

I don't mind going to the store. It gets me out of the house

Hanging on to the grocery cart keeps me mobile as I cruise the aisles and the exercise is good for me. Dang it tho. When I get home there's usually one or two extra things that fell into the cart. I think they make the shelves tilt and if you get too close........

I never go to the self checkout. I want a real person and in most cases we can exchange pleasant comments.
There will come a day tho' when I will need the delivery or pick-up services. (Big sigh)

Here we lost alberstons, food world, and food max, replaced with target, walmart, and the grocery only walmart that closed last month due to the stupidity of putting it withing a couple of miles of a walmart that sold groceries, and we got two aldi's and a world market, and whole foods, which I will never set foot in again. We still have a Winn Dixie, but its a pain to get to, clear on the other side of town on the highway. We also have a Sams club and BJ's but I rarely shop in bulk anymore, unless I absolutely need too. Well the ladies go to stock up on their supplies, but here you almost have to tip and the delivery fees at the cheapest are 10 bucks. We also have two or three of those "at cost plus ten percent" stores, which are good if you want to save a little, but all in all nowadays you need a treasure map and a full tank of gas to fill your shopping list. So I usually now delegate the shopping to my wife or Ashley, since they like the hunt for good deals. but its sad that not one store can carry everything you need at one time. I remember me and my siblings shopping with mom, who loved to shop, but made it her point to not waste dad's gas. Fun times corralling kids, while getting what my mom told me to go get.
