We have been "planning" this for a while. Really been waiting for DHS to open the Canada/US border to cars to drive across the border. They haven't yet so we are going with plan B -- ship our vehicle across the border and fly down and meet it. More expensive but it may be the only way. We don't want to sit here through another Alberta winter.

I have an affinity for the Pacific Ocean after living in San Diego back in the mid-'80s. We have finally decided on La Paz BCS. We were originally thinking Mazatlan but decided that La Paz was more "Mexican" and less touristy.

Touristy generally means more expensive. Gringo dollars drive up the cost of everything.  But touristy usually means greater security. BCS is one of the safest regions in Mexico. I have several friends with places in and around Cabo. Love that whole area. Jealous!
