It’s why I didn’t post a pic, even the most recent would be 17.

And the age of consent in Maryland is 16.

In the UK, the age of consent is 16 (now 18 if you have control or power over them [eg teacher, policeman]). A couple of tabloids regularly featured topless photos of of 16 year old girls, and one featured a daily count-down to the date when it would become legal to fancy Emma Watson ("Hermione Granger").

That seems reasonable.

That's deplorable!

Probably one of the many reasons my sisters wifey never wants to go back there and her family wants to leave.

Let’s be honest, between Brexit and Boris Johnson, Scotland independence, the Irish border problems, and the inevitable coming recession and collapse of the Pound, I think you’d have to be crazy to consider relocating to the UK right now.  Follow the money.  Major Corporate concerns are betting on the EU.

I think they have other concerns too.

These people are old enough to remember The Troubles.  "What could possibly go wrong?"

Remember? I was very nearly in them!

Delayed travel plans meant I missed being caught up in a bombing just five minute's walk from my alma mater:

Campus visit with my son.  Amazed at how much my alma mater has changed in 36 years since I graduated.  #whatisthisbuilding #wedidnthaveastarbuckshere

LOL, yeah.  They're running out of places to put one that doesn't have one all ready.  At some point, they're going to have to resort to putting Starbucks inside of Starbucks.

I don’t really do Starbucks.  It’s too complicated.

But then I only drink coffee at work and sometimes at home.  On rare occasions I get coffee out because I’m tired.  The last time was just before a concert in a Marriott Hotel (it was across from the concert venue).  The guy said the pot was old, told him I didn’t care.

I am an insufferable coffee snob.  I drink soda for a caffeine fix, I drink coffee to enjoy it.  Some people it's beer, wine, or spirits, IDFK, but I pretty much have to make the coffee to enjoy it, I'm that anal.  Fortunately, John (My, landlord?  There's not really an existing term for our relationship) loves my coffee, and only drinks a cup.

I hate Starbucks because of their corporate practices, but I'm not going to ruin your day by going off on a woke SJW anti-consumerism local economic dissertation.  Suffice it to say, they're systematically destroying the small businesses the move in specifically to undercut the price on, and remove the "Competition."  So, all the money that could be circulating in every neighborhood of every town goes to Seattle, where they seem to need it more.

They are the 1%.  I don't pay welfare to the 1%.  I'll spend 5 times as much to give my money to someone who lives here, and can shake my hand, with the caveat that it's all imported, and the coffee industry is bad fro places like Brazil, and Sumatra, where it will actually grow in bulk.

I stick with good old plain black coffee...no sugar, no cream and never some "foo-foo" fancy crap.  Yeah, I'm an old fuddy duddy

As far as getting coffee on the road, a regional gas station chain is offering fresh ground coffee at several locations.  Each machine has three varieties. You choose which one, size and the beans are ground and brewed. Delicious!!!

This is merging into the Food Crimes lane, but I firmly believe that Lattes are for people that don't like the taste of coffee, or posers who want to show off how refined their taste is with a drink that's in French, or Italian?

"That's Au Lait"

"What?"

"That's au lait, not a latte."

"Are you sure?"

"I just watched the barista make it."

"Oh, what's the difference?"

"Well..."

I've got a bunch of reasons to be happy today;

> My wife got a new job; the type of job she wanted, at the location she wanted, and permanent. We even have matching holiday patterns!

> My youngest also got a new (extra) job, as one of these...

(That's not the actual company)

He talked the boss into paying him $25 an hour (my first proper job was $3 an hour!), plus travel and accommodation if the gig is any great distance, and he'll be getting an MI5 security check soon, as the company does parties for the royal family...

> One of my eldest son's friends recently came out. It's her birthday today, so they've changed the party venue: they're all going to the local Pride event, and then hitting the gay clubs for the night (one is holding a 4 'til 4 glitter party!), and they've booked rooms close by to collapse into at silly o'clock tomorrow morning.

Now I've got this random thought of James (Or is it Jane now?) Bond wearing an inflatable T-rex suit, to blend in.

A long two days at work on Th/Fr

And knowing that, Dan, being the wonderful guy he is, treated me to a day of some of my favorite things.  We've been gone all day, with him taking me to different surprise places.  And they were all wonderful.  What a special day.   I love him so much.
