First birding trip of the spring migration for this year!  Wife and I headed up to our favorite area in Wisconsin.  We heard the birds were starting to arrive and that there was some open water.  Well, it was cold last night and the open areas had refrozen.

Just about everywhere on the lakes and flowages, were pairs of Trumpeter Swans.  They were sitting on the ice and were staking out their nesting area.  These areas, tho' still frozen, are fiercely defended by the Swans.  We saw a few other birds too, but in a couple more weeks, if the weather holds, the place will be teeming with returnees.

Looking like a fun spring, after last years big freeze. We had over a foot of snow in the middle of April. Wiped out most of the seasons hatch of Canada Geese young. The eggs either froze or if they'd hatched, the goslings died.  Grim year for the Geese.  Hoping everything will rebound this year.

Got a few pictures too, of course.

I'm getting into it with an "AnarchoChristian."  With Scriptures.  I love debating the scriptures.

Yes, I'm an Anarchist, and yes, I consider myself a follower of Christ.  (Not "Christian," that's been ruined at this point)  However, I also realize that the Christian God is the ultimate Authoritarian, and "AnarchoChristian" is a thinly veiled Theocrat.  A Church-State, and we all know how well that's worked Historically.

Nothing drives the religious crazies over the edge faster than confronting their heretical beliefs with scripture.  They all have a bookmark or bumper sticker that reads, “God said it.  I believe it.  That settles it.”  Well I guess God doesn’t agree with you, does He?”  [sound of heads exploding].

I told my mother that Pat Robertson is a false prophet, and Donald Trump is the Great Whore of Babylon.  “I’m praying for you to get it right with God, because if the Rapture happens tomorrow, I’m afraid you’re going to be left behind.”  She is still freaking out.

Yeah, well you know that I tried (And failed) to be an Antiochian Orthodox Monk.  (Crisis of Faith.)  So, I can whip him with scriptures in Syriac!  He turns out to be a Libertarian, not an Anarchist, he just doesn't know the difference.

I specifically used the Gospels, and "The Greatest Commandment" to show that the Christian Law is Authoritarian.

Mathew:  "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

Mark:  "‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these."

And Luke:  "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”  Then, someone said that this isn't Enforced.  So, I amended that with Luke 10:28 "Do this, and You Shall Live."  (NIV)

You've got to know that there's very few quotes from Jesus that are backed up, in all 3 Gospels.  I'm of the belief that if Mathew, Mark, AND Luke agree that He said it?  There's a good chance that He actually said it.  Here was his response:

AnarchoChristian:  "I didn’t read through all of your comments. What I did see, seems to stem from a misunderstanding of law, Christianity and anarchy, that that I think these resources will address."

Then, he linked me to several episodes of his own Podcast, as a source, to explain the specific scriptures I listed, and quoted.  "Watch my podcast" is not an answer.

I meant to post this a few days back, so I changed the subject title for this post.

While I was on vacation.  I was checking my emails, and I received a message from someone.  Someone that has become a friend over the past 7(ish) years.   We don't talk or email every day, week or even month, but then we just suddenly do.    And we have a flurry of emails back and forth about different things going on in our life or different experiences from our pasts - both good and bad.
When I log in to gmail and see she has sent me something, my heart leaps out of my chest.  Just a very special person that I feel blessed to have crossed paths with in this life.

A few days ago too for this:

Once a month my Peruvian and I meet with a Catholic Priest as part of pre-wedding prep.  I like the guy a lot and was disappointed he found out he’s got a personal obligation the day of our wedding, so can’t perform it himself (seems his own father is taking his vows to also be a priest that day).  He found another priest to do it, and we met with both of them this week.  My deceased wife was Polish Catholic, so I find it ironic this new priest is from Poland.

There was some paperwork to fill out to get permission for this heathen non-Catholic to marry a good Catholic girl.  The priest signed and my Peruvian signed, so I asked if I had to sign too.  The priest replied, ‘No, you’re not Catholic.’  Then probably thinking that sounded like he was excluding me, he added, ‘But God loves you anyway.’

I immediately held my thumb and forefinger very close to indicate very small and quipped back, ‘But just a little bit less?’

Both priests began laughing very hard.  The Polish guy was laughing so hard his face got beet red.

So what made my day was being slightly irreverent and making two Catholic Priests laugh out loud at my joke.

No tan lines!!!  ;)

Too many wrinkles from too much tanning over the years.
Sunscreen is now my friend.  So, no tan lines because I didn't get much color, not because of a lack of my bathing suit, silly.

It’s OK Jules.  Nobody was picturing you in their heads as having a bathing suit on anyways.

Not necessarily.

I mean, when I read "tan lines," I assumed Watcher was referring to tan lines left by a watch or ring.

What else could he have been referring to?

hahaha

I never take off my fitbit or my wedding ring except to shower.  And peeking beneath my fitbit band, I do have a bit of a tan line.

And, speaking of my fitbit, I hit my 10,000th step at lunch.  And I'm running 4 miles when I get home.  New goal for today, 20,000.    I'm killing it this week (Sun-Wed below).

But my fitbit won't sync right now.  :(
Also a made my day.... first 100,000 step week since last Sept.
All the floors were from running up and down bleachers on vacation.   I didn't know I did 193 floors.
It's nice when you have time off work for daily activity.

We went to a party to watch the MSU basketball game last night.

I bumped into a friend of my sisters that I have not seen in at least 18 years, she and her husband had moved away to Austin in 2001 and just moved back in to town about 2 years ago.  It just so happens, that her husband was transferred into Mark's department recently.   We all committed to the four of us going out together soon.
