Weirdly, an erotic nightmare.  It's fucked up, but a lot of my inspiration comes from bad dreams, which I've been blissfully having a break from lately.  Then, I read something triggering yesterday, which got those gears running again.

I honestly don't expect anyone else to understand my creative process, any more than what comes out of it, but I enjoy taking my horror, and turning it into something else.  Still horrible, but a different one.  I don't even understand why that works, but it does for me.

That's how I "Deal with it."

Just remembered I have a date on Tuesday. Made me smile.

1 or 2 days off with pay, and I have time to read a book.  The cheap plastic chairs could be more comfortable, but I can live with 'em.

I don't have to worry about being selected for a panel because I understand the reason for a jury.  We're there not only to decide right or wrong, guilty or innocent, but also to decide if the law is just.  Juries are what killed Prohibition: once we figured out we could vote NOT GUILTY on all of the alcohol cases (and did!), they stopped prosecuting them.  Eventually the law was repealed.  ;D  Most of us have forgotten that since then, but the principle still applies.

With that knowledge in hand, either the lawyer(s) or the prosecutor won't want me.

Remember the Golden Rule: you do me, and I\'ll do you (paraphrased)

Jury duty.  Yeah, me too . . . . . week of the 18th.  My Peruvian too this month and for the second time in recent years despite ineligibility due to not being an actual citizen yet.  Her brother the cop fixed that before and will this time too.

My dad says that every time he was called for jury duty, once he told them he had sat as the president of a courtsmartial, no one wanted to empanel him.

CJ got out of jury duty the last time they tried.  :D

But what made CJ's day today: I have to pick up baby supplies later.  ;D

An awkward moment when a guy recognized me from out on the ranch/range.  A few weeks back, we went out hunting/shooting, and since we thought we had the place to ourselves, I went dressed up.

I guess he was a little freaked out, seeing me in a flektarn dress, holding a Varmit Rifle.  Out on the Range, where there weren't any Antelope, but a few Deer, at least.

One of the reasons I moved here from Colorado Springs, to challenge people's worldview.  The fight isn't there, it's here.  Some people apparently still aren't ready to accept my existence, but they don't have to.  Not when I have my warhammer/walking stick to see what I can scavenge from Lipschitz.  (It's sold as a warhammer, but I use it to tear off car-doors by the hinges.  The cops are cool about it, because if they find someone killed with a bec-du-corbin, the know who to talk to about it.  The only guyl in town that owns a warhammer/bec du corbin.)

Reading "Florida Man..." headlines this morning, looking for story inspiration ideas, and Lulz.

:emot_laughing:  I've seen most of these before, but there's some hidden gems in there if you're patient, and keep looking...

Yeah, I realize Florida is a populous state, but it does seem to have a lot of lost souls forgotten by Darwin.  Although honestly, if not from Florida, they frequently come from Texas too, another populous state.

There's some in every state, but only in Florida can journalists read 9-11 transcripts.  A lot of other sources like that, and the market is high for the weirdest story you can find.

So, a lot of them start with "Florida Man calls 9-11 because his hooker stole his drugs."

About 30 years ago I read in the Baltimore Sun about a man entering the Baltimore City Police Station and placing a baggie of crack cocaine on the front desk.  He explained he wanted help retrieving his $50 from the drug dealer because he changed his mind and wanted to use the money for a prostitute instead.

I was at my father's this weekend.   I grabbed some boxes of pictures.   They were pictures I never knew were taken.   It's from when I was a little girl, from a newborn to 12ish.   There were about 10 times as many of my sister then of me, but still.   I never knew they existed.   I still haven't gone through all of them.   Every picture of my sister and I together, she is usually hugging me in them.
 :'(
^ happy tears for finding them and being able to reminisce.

My uncle called yesterday.  I haven’t spoken with him in 12 years.  He says he has a painting by my great grandmother, that my grandmother wished for me to have.  He wants to bring it to me.  I remember the day my grandmother got a pen and wrote on the back of it, “Please give this to Toe upon my death.”  I’ve been aware of this since her death, but didn’t want to make an issue of it.  Perhaps he wants to make things right now; he just turned 70.  I burst out bawling like a baby also, so I fully empathize Jules.
