Being pronounced "miraculously healthy" after my annual physical. My doctor continues to be mystified, considering that I've been a pack a day smoker for nearly 50 years. Today he said, "If all my patients were as healthy as you, I'd be out of business."  :D

He also told me the percentage of men my age with normal blood pressure is minuscule, but mine is and always has been right around 120/80. I only take one prescription drug, a statin to control cholesterol levels, and for someone my age, that's virtually unheard of.  :o

Everything went great today.  I mean everything.  Beyond my wildest dreams good, and it is only getting better.  Entering into a whole new level of kickass.  And I have a meeting on Friday that may launch things into the Stratosphere.  Wow.  Can’t believe it.  Pinching myself.

Don’t get cocky.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

I couldn't believe my eyes.  I opened up the local paper's online edition before hitting the rack and there in a bold headline, "JAYME CLOSS FOUND ALIVE, WIS. SHERIFF SAYS".
Not a national story I realize, but since Oct. 15th, those of us in the north country have been waiting for some kind of news of this 13 year old girl.  On that day law enforcement officers responded to a 911 call from the family's rural residence.  Both parents were found dead and Jayme missing. There were no clues, scant leads and massive searches conducted.  It's an isolated heavily forested area.

One of the latest efforts to request tips was putting a painted semi truck on the road asking people to call if they'd seen anything.  That's how desperate they were for leads.

Now tonight I see she's found.  Very little information as yet.  Who knows what's been happening to her for the past three months.  Her parents are gone, but there are family members who have been hoping and praying for her return.  Now their prayers are answered...Jayme is coming home.

Brief update.  Jayme was able to escape where she was being held.  It was a rural wooded area with few year round homes, mostly summer cabins.  A dog walker found her.  She was malnourished with matted hair and wearing oversized shoes.  The dog walker took her to the home of another couple and police were called.  They sealed off the area and within minutes had made an arrest.  A 21 year old is being held.

These stories of abducted young girls rarely have a happy ending after so much time has gone by.

That's wonderful news and I'm so glad you posted. I can only hope she has enough family support to help her move forward.

The trauma that's she's been through for nearly 3 months will never be forgotten and she will need all the emotional support she can get.

By the power vested in me by nobody, I declare today to be National Pray for Jayme's Mental Health day.

My Peruvian, her momma, her sister, and her niece are going wedding dress shopping this morning.  Is it making my day that she’s getting a dress for our wedding?  Not really, as I’m sure they will figure out how I will end up paying for it.  What is making my day is because of tradition, I am forbidden to go with them!

To put this in perspective, I once went dress shopping with just her in Waikiki Beach Hawaii.  We must have went in over 30 stores over a 5 hour period, AND SHE BOUGHT NOTHING!  So we had to go shopping for a few hours again the next day, while we were in fucking Hawaii!  In the end I bought her a dress for a Luau that got canceled due to a hurricane.  So the last 4 days of our Hawaiian vacation were wasted due to dress shopping and then inclement weather.  We could have been doing something fun.  I’ve never seen her wear that expensive dress she finally got.

Mrs Boast spent weeks shopping around for wedding dresses.

Fortunately, she didn't take me (because tradition), and took friends with her.

After about a month, she went back to the first shop she'd visited, and bought the first dress she'd tried on.

She’s renting, so I’m hoping that eases the damage to my wallet.

But I’m sure she will drag me shopping again soon, and I’ll probably hear about how much money she saved me by renting, and now I have money to buy her other things.

I have $6 in the bank right now post Christmas.  Good thing pay day is the 15th, and I do not work for the government like so many do here in Maryland.

In other news, my wife is amazing to me. With her permission, I went to the Edmonton Motorcycle Show today and bought a brand new motorcycle. A 2018 Honda CB500X in Matte Black.

Now I need to do some maintenance on the current motorcycle and get it ready to sell.

That is all.

Jed, I had to laugh when I read this. My wife did the same thing, and not any local stores either. JC Freaking Penney and Sears!

I suppose in a way I was just as bad. I hate soft drinks from a can, always opting for fountain drinks from convenience stores. About the 4th day we were there, I'd had my fill of canned sodas and found the address for a 7-11.

I got on a city bus and asked if I could get to that address on the bus and the answer was yes. Forty-five minutes and one transfer later I saw the familiar sign and slaked my thirst for a fountain drink.

As I was paying for my drink, I mentioned the name of our hotel and asked the cashier the best way to get there. He pointed to the left and said I should go 2 blocks that way, then turn right and go four more blocks and I'd be right in front of it.

Even on foot, it didn't take me 45-minutes to walk the six blocks to get back to where I started.

WHOA.....Hold On You Two.....!!!
When I'm in the mood, I'll go shopping (or window shopping at the mall) for hours.
I "may" buy something or I "may not".....there is no hard or fast rule about how much time I can take (or waste).....you don't have a right to bitch about any woman who goes shopping and takes her time (don't like it......don't go with her..!!).
Word of warning:  If you go shopping with me, and see that we are heading for a Barnes and Nobles Book Store....."bail out while you can" or be prepared to spend about 3 hours with me going through books ( I may not buy a thing, or I might just use you to carry the books that I do buy)....."Don't bitch about it, it's not you prerogative too......It's about me and shopping, it's not about you.....go wander around by yourself......  NUFF SAID.

Love,
Liz
