What made my day (yesterday)......
BF is playing Mr. Mom for me.   Yesterday he picked up my niece at school, they did homework, he fed her, he took her to see her dad, and had her in bed when I got home last night at 8:30.   With dinner on the table for me with a glass of wine.   He even had a candle going and turned the lights way down for dinner.   Very romantic.  Bonus.......... he's a very good cook.  :)   Then a nice foot rub on the couch where I fell asleep.

And, I'm getting in late this evening, so I am really hoping for a repeat performance by him.   Hopefully a few glasses of wine tonight.

Off for the rest of the day.   Have a good day everyone.

How sweet. How come no one does anything like that for me? No, it's always mommy clean up my room. Mommy the dog has to poop. Mommy I lost this help me find it. White girl do this and do that and do as I say no matter what. Clean the entire fucking house because no one else will lift a precious little finger. Take care of two babies all day, one of which isn't legally my responsibility. The only person around here who never asks or demands anything of me is the disabled woman in a wheelchair who cleans her own room spotless and never asks me to help her do anything.

It's 9:30 A.M.

It's my day off work.

College basketball is on so I can sit here in the command center pantsless and watch.

Today I didn't even have to use my A.K.

I got to say it was a good day

Got home late last night from a 600 mile road trip.  House wasn’t burned to the ground, kids were fine, climbed into bed, and slept 7.5 hours.  Didn’t wake up once all night.

Getting to the grocery store early, and picking up all the good stuff for the holiday week, before the hungry crowds descended.  The schools are closed, the kids are home.  I did my Black Friday shopping online, and picked up a new flatscreen to replace the one that burned out.  It cost 1/4 of what my old one did 10 years ago.  And the Longhorns beat West Virginia.  All good.  Happy holiday.

For the first time in about 25 years I bought a new mattress, not cheap at $2K.  It was delivered and I had the bed all made up around noon today.  I went out and had a decent lunch where alcohol was consumed.  I was back home for a nap in my new bed around 3PM.

Oh my fucking God, my nap lasted 5 hours, and I could have kept sleeping.

That is a nice treat.  I bought a new mattress about 2 years ago and I didn't know how bad I had it.   My mattress is so nice now.    Yay, Jed.

The last couple of weeks I've been gathering up a lot of 'things' in the house that are no longer needed.   Half the garage is filled.    The Salvation Army truck just called and they will be here in an hour.     I get my parking spot back in the garage.

I can tell after sleeping all night it’s a little too soft for me but not sure yet.  It’s a dilemma, as I’m sleeping alone in it, but I hope that’s not always going to be the case.  I went with medium firmness with that in mind.  I can just picture getting the firm one, and a girl complaining it’s hard as a rock.

It takes 2 - 3 weeks to get used to a new mattress. We bought a mattress from a store that offers a 60 day exchange policy. We did the exchange after a week because it was just not working for the Mrs. She wasn't 100% happy with the replacement mattress but because you only get one exchange, we had to keep it. After about 3 weeks, she was sleeping through the night with no issues.

As for me, I can sleep anyplace. One of my favourite places has been on top of a cargo container in the back of a C-130.

That is all.

Yesterday.... Up at 5:30am to stuff the bird.  Put it in the roaster and set a timer for it to start at 8:00am (to cook until 1:00pm).    Then we got in the car at 6:30am to go to the parade and get a good seat.   It was cold, but fun.   My niece loved it.  So did my bf's daughters.    It was really nice.   We were back home at 11:30am.   My bf's daughters and I turned on the stereo and we were singing and dancing as we made the potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole (yum).   BF and my dad went to get my brother in law and brought him home.

We had such a wonderful time and we were all wiped out by 9:30pm and in bed.

We were up at 5:00am to do some Black Friday shopping.   NEVER AGAIN (though I know I will again next year).   It was fun with bf's daughters, but ugh.   The mall was packed.   It wasn't worth it to me.   I came home about 6:20am and let the girls stay at the mall for a few hours before their dad went to get them.

Leftovers for lunch and we all took a nap.    Then went out shopping again.   hahaha, I was dreading it, but we all had fun doing it together and I have all my shopping done now.  :)

Oh yeah, after dinner yesterday, turned on the TV to see the Lions lose, then we played games with the kids as the Dallas game was on in the other room and saw Mervs Cowboys get slaughtered.   ;)

Yes, the Cowboys looked like turkeys.

I had a ten year old 50” plasma tv that probably had 30,000 hours on it, and it gave up the ghost.  I priced a new energy panel for it, and concluded I could get a new TV cheaper.  I did Black Friday sales and got a Samsung 55” LED 4K smart TV for $470.  That’s about 1/4 of what I paid for my old one.  The picture snaps.  The speakers are better, it has Wi-fi and Bluetooth, and can interface with my smartphone.

On question left, how do you get rid of a 50” dinosaur?

I put an ad in Craigslist.  Two hours later a young guy came and got the television.  He says he’s going to fix it, and give it to his mother, for Christmas.  Thoughtful young man.  Wishing him success on the repairs.

Get a surround sound system or at least a sound bar.  TV speakers are awful for a home theatre.
