Disappointing news for a friend, is good news for me.   It'll work out in the end for her though.   I know, I'm confusing.   A big made my day though!   Huge!  Ginormous!   I'm happy.  Best news in a few months.

The "Huge!  Ginormous!" thing is happening today.

I am Happy!

I've been getting closer and closer with my "little brother" which still sounds weird to say. He's a great kid. Way too much like me. Thankfully neither of us are like our father.  :D

His mom asked me if I could look after him today, he got hurt at school so he's taking a few days off. We're going to the park with the baby and dog and then out to lunch.

I can't believe I'm excited to spend time with him. Only because it's still so fucking weird having a little brother who's my daughters age.

And he loves my NEW gaming laptop. I sold the other one and got a brand new one that's more powerful. So we'll play games together too.  :D

I won't be on Thursday because of a field trip with my niece.    Should be fun.     And it's the reason I posted my 3 - 30 day challenges a few hours early.

Lessons From the Dog Park

Here we are, first of May.  Temps in the upper 30s and a chilling mist falling.  The two Bassets I'm a dog walker for hopped in the Basset Limo for their daily visit to the dog park.

There were only a handful of people and dogs braving the day.  Us two-leggers were bundled up and grousing about the weather, generally feeling sorry for ourselves.

The dogs?  Running and playing. Sniffing butts.  Chasing each other and generally having fun.  There was sniffing of the trees and fence to pick up the latest "message"...lifting a leg to leave a reply.  In short, they didn't give a damn about the weather.  They just took what they got and made the most of it.

There's so much we can learn from our "dumb" animal friends just by paying attention.

BTW:  I did inform my two that it was a 3 - P day...Poop, pee and pack it in. :D

Something nice happening to someone I care about.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

We spent the day with our son and his girlfriend - we don't get to see her very often, we had a great day.

I'm a little more responsible than that.

Got an e-mail on Thursday from the head instructor asking if I could do the afternoons this weekend for motorcycle training. Turned into Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. An easy $200.00 . A lot of fun despite the rainy and cold weather we experienced.

That is all.

Oh.......and seeing Watcher posting today.   With my increased work schedule and visiting here less, coupled with his fewer visits, I don't think we've crossed paths in a while.

And Grav, where are you?

After three days of soggy weather, today I made a nice visit to the neighborhood I grew up in, bright sun shining down on trees in full leaf and ornamentals in full blossom. Lots of houses with solar panels on the roof. Most of the old houses are still there, including two I once lived in, one of which my grandfather built. Lots of new houses in places where we used to play ball or hunt rabbits, but generally speaking the neighborhood looks well kept. Nesting swans in a pond that never had swans when I was a boy. Vehicular traffic has increased by a factor of I would say ten times what it was when I was a lad. Fancy lunch with my oldest friend, with whom I used to play in his backyard sandbox.
