I may have finally kicked a really bad cold I've suffered through the past couple of weeks. It's the worst cold I've had in a very long time. I was popping prescription strength Aleve-D like a junkie and fortifying that with Contact Sinus/Cold.

I went to a funeral home for visitation on Tuesday evening, the mother of someone I've recently met. I was so touched meeting the family and getting to know them that I was drawn back to attend the funeral service yesterday.

You would think I would have posted this in 'What Ruined My Day", but the love for this beautiful woman/mother/grandmother/great grandmother and most importantly wife, was unbelievable, and it made my day to meet all of the family and celebrate this wonderful lady's life.

Dan wanted to leave it at just Tuesday night, but I was not having it. I needed him to join me yesterday for the service, if for no other reason than to communicate with people which is often the case. He's glad we attended. Just walking in the room we felt like we were part of the family.

Seeing my new friend give the eulogy was so touching. What a special lady. She was so loved by so many during her long life.

You're a wonderful man, Mike3854, and I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. Those who met her are blessed.

Bonus WMMD ... the family hosted a post service luncheon at a restaurant I have never been to. It might be my new favorite restaurant.

Wishing you peace in your loss Mike. I am not sure what you believe, but I believe, that since we were all born from it, and I hope it comforts you knowing she is all around and has returned to the very fabric of the universe.

Top of the Muffin.

Looking over the grocery ad this morning from the Sunday paper an item caught my eye. They were selling muffin tops. Oh my God. Muffin tops. All I could think of was that Seinfeld episode about muffin tops. And here they are selling them in my local grocery store.

This should be in TIL.  But Bob mentioned muffins.

I learned somewhere recently, (TikTok maybe) that the best way to eat a muffin is by turning it upside down and eating it. So I tried it, and  I must tell you my muffin eating experience has never been better.

My wife came home from rehab yesterday. WOO! She went to the hospital Christmas day so weak from COVID that she couldn't walk. After a week in the hospital and the rest of the time in my rehab, she's home and much stronger.

Thank you Julie, Pornhubby, and Shiela.

It's been a rough couple of weeks. My mother is in a better place now. We're happy her very anxious and terrified mind shut down and she is at peace. Her last 5 days were pretty bad.

As I told you at the luncheon Julie, I'm a very emotional person. I'm surprised anybody could understand the eulogy. As I said, at the age of almost 60 I'm fortunate to have had both my parents for as long as I did.

Julie, thank you for everything. You and Dan are the best.

Msslave. That is fantastic news. Back home where she should be. A huge congratulations. A little normal in your life once again.

Mike so sorry about your loss. I lost my parents when they were both in their early 60s.

No matter the age the loss of a parent is hard. I had to speak at my best friends funeral. I made it to the end before I broke down. Don't be ashamed for your emotions.

Toe makes my day everyday.     :emot_kiss:   . So does everyone else here.  Even as slow as things have gotten around here, it still brings me joy coming on and seeing what my friends have to say.  :emot_kiss:
