Fuck, that takes me back from 2016 to 2020...She fell and broke both bones in her ankle, came home from rehab and something wasn't right, had her taken to the ER. While waiting on a room she had a heart attack. Got diagnosed with CFH had 3 stints put in and it just kept spiraling down from there. She had CFH in both sides of the heart, diabetes had destroyed her bone tissue so the surgery to fix it didn't work. At least that was the surgeon's excuse. But considering every time she went back to the hospital during those years, every nurse cringed when she mentioned that doctor's name. Found out he had been kicked out of 2 different practices because of his malpractice claims. Why don't hospitals tell you this instead of just assigning them? He was polite and charming so the wife okayed him to operate. But her health never got any better and during 1 stay at the hospital she passed. 2019 was the worse as she was in the hospital or rehab more than she was home the first 8 months of the year. I think the longest stay at home was a week. Not telling this for sympathy, just moaning. lol

So I certainly wish you and your wife a much better outcome over it.

Just catching up. Yesterday our friend  came to visit bearing pizza and accompanied by her sweet dog.
We usually travel out to see her, but she and the dog came to our tiny house instead.

Visits like that really help the wife. Nothing like Sloppy doggy kisses to help heal you. :D

After she left we decided to watch TV. The old man here soon fell asleep in my comfy chair and missed the rest of the afternoon.

I'm behind... but last night we made our first trip to the north end of the city to have dinner with our friends.  Good to see the gang again.

I'm having too much trouble with my eyes for night driving. The incoming car lights have started to blind me. It's something to do with the rods and cones changing with age.

Now daylight savings time allows us to go once again.
So that was our day maker. :D 8) :emot_dancing:

I have the same issue with my eyes and night driving. Easier on divided highways than streets. Not fun.

I mentioned our friend Barb and Dan's college friend, made a connection on Saturday night.  They brought bagels to the house yesterday when she brought him back to get his motorcycle.  They hung out with us during the day. Both actually falling asleep while we were watching a movie (I guess they didn't get any sleep Saturday night).
After an early dinner they left, presumably to their respective places.  I found out this morning, she spent another night with him at the hotel.  Woo Barb!

And, they called and we met them for breakfast this morning.  She called in sick, haha.  Her kids get a substitute teacher today.

He's off on a motorcycle ride for the next week. He's going to try and swing back through the Detroit area next Monday.

Happy they made a connection, but unfortunately, they both said a long term relationship is out, they've both tried it in the past and it was too hard.  And she's rooted here with her teaching job.  He's rooted where he lives.

Finally getting some home health care from the VA. They think they can get me on the schedule this week for the first visit.

They'll be helping with health care like setting up my pills for the week along with any other needs even helping with showers. Maybe I'll get a cute lady. ;D

Also they're going to do some light housekeeping including laundry. The basement steps are really getting to me more and more.

Guess qualifying for this means I'm getting old

Despite the horrid morning, the afternoon and evening got better. Went out with friends as we do every cinco de mayo, and drink margaritas. There is a local restaurant that serve burritos the size of footballs. We get one and split it, but we definitely don't share margaritas.

One of us got a little too loud for a restaurant so we ended up leaving for a more appropriate location for this rambunctious loud mouth.

Had an absolute blast, but paid for the fun the next morning. Was hung over most of the day, which was not helped at all from the barking dogs at work. After work, I just went home and slept.

Am happy about the report of Hilda checking in, Bob getting a VA visit, and Shiela getting some rest. 

What made my day was peace and quiet.  Dan went golfing.  A at school, M hanging with a friend in town from Nashville for the week to celebrate her birthday this weekend, and to be home for Mother's Day.  I got to work on the lawn, and afterward I took a nice long bubble bath in hot hot water.  Door shut, shade pulled down, lights off, and a candle.  Was nice after getting a little cold outside working on the lawn and flowerbeds.  Oh, and i diddled myself while in there.
