Guess the little tree rats built the nest loose enough that the CO,2 could still get through. Don't know why it didn't kill the furry invaders. Have you had CO2 detectors tested?

Glad you have new liner. Hope it's made of stronger stuff.

Tested and new batteries every six months.

Never heard anything about poisonous snakes in Europe. I guess it can happen in a warm climate. What snakes are we talking about?

Guess I know why you have warrior boots on. Here I thought it was for kicking ass and talking.names. :D

Unfortunately we have quite a few . They seem to belong to the same family  ,vipers. We have Orsinis viper , Seonane viper, Common european viper, and our worst one, Asp viper. These last bastards are little 10" to maybe 18"  but very aggressive [ the others are quite timid and slide away if you stamp your feet] Because they are little and so well camouflaged they are quite dangerous. They are sometimes on our terrace cos it's warm. Have to sweep them off with a broom ,they don't like that!

Rob says I look sexy when I'm gardening naked in my wellie boots !!

We have the common european viper species in the UK, known as an Adder. It is somewhat rare and elusive I believe, mainly lives on sandy heathlands.
An adder bite can be painful and cause a inflammation, but is really only dangerous to the very young, ill or old.

A surprise visit by Lolo the nurse.
.........

But what actually made my day was when Lolo got my medical files out and told me that there was an irregularity/error in them.

She pointed to my date of birth and said that it was wrong.
I looked ,but no it was in order .
She looked puzzled and asked was I sure about the year ? I looked again , 1956 all correct. And then she said the most wonderful words ...........................

" I am so sorry but I thought you were 50 maybe 53".

YEY I LOVE this girl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!   She is most welcome at our house anytime day or night

OMG , he would be all over her , maybe I should take her on holiday ,lol.
It is very funny watching Rob's behaviour when Lolo calls . He 's like a puppy dog haha.
The thing is it works , I notice her flicking her hair back , licking her lips , crossing and uncrossing her legs , all the little subconscious "little come ons".
Next time she calls I will disappear for a few mins ,just to see what happens.
I've been here before , it's fun and it always [so far ] worked out without tears. However this will be our first french "conquest",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it may be different.

Yes I remember in UK my daughters being warned at school about adders after a classmate got bitten , but like you said they are rare . I read somewhere that they like the grass verges of the motorways . Not the best thing to find when you breakdown and hop over the armco !
We have them here too ,adders that is,  but they are big so easily spotted and very timid so not a problem . The dangerous ones are the asp vipers , you just don't see them until the last minute ..oops too late . My wellie boots have been attacked several times .  I didn't know about the venom kit though. I am reassured ,especially as with Rob's meds making his blood race round his body !! Yes the old joke about sucking out the poison is going through my head too ,lol.

Here's one . 10" of aggression ,nasty bastard.
Luckily we have buzzards who quite regularly pick them off of boulders and roadside verges. Lots of pet dogs get bit every year , sometimes fatal.

WMMD today .
My granddaughter and boyfriend are safely installed at our house for a week ,yey !!! I picked them up from the airport.
What has truly made our day , apart from having them here to spoil , is that they brought presents.
Rob has bags and bags of indian spices , the real deal from Wembley, London.  There is a massive indian community there , Rob is over the moon , France [our bit anyway] doesn't do spices.
Me, I have a dozen jars of MARMITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They shouldn't have brought these things in but nobody searched their bags ,phew there's lucky.
I may not be around for a while [ too busy eating my MARMITE !]
Happy Easter everybody  :emot_kiss: :emot_kiss:

Wife's ready to leave the hospital this afternoon. Next stop is a rehab center to work on her strength and balance to avoid falls.

Not sure how long she'll be there, but could be two or three weeks.

Where she's going is a nice place. I used to stop there when I worked as a courier and had to pick up items for the laboratory.

The rehab place will keep her busy, much more than the hospital did. Thanks for the update, Bob.

Ok, Plan B. They couldn't get transportation until midnight. Not acceptable. Move will be tomorrow morning at 9:00. Just a slight delay.

Wife has lucked out and been moved to a very good facility. It's clean and the staff I met friendly. It's a bit of a drive but not too bad. The nurse that checked her in said she might be there a couple weeks. Any other time she's been in rehab she's always worked real hard to get home ASAP

My big surprise just as I was leaving was finding an Alexa device in M's room. Checked and it works. With her limited eye sight, she can now get the time, weather and our favorite radio station. Her room phone is very similar to her's at home...one more plus.

Good news Bob. Thanks for the update. I suggest you find a Vietnamese au pair to take care of you in the meantime.

Bob, glad the wife was moved and is improving.

Sorry for not being active, though I am logged in.

Had a strange past couple of weeks.

First, one of my maternal great granduncle's passed away. Not terribly shaken up by it, as I only seen the man a confirmed two times in my life, once after I was born and then when I graduated High school, where he gave me a grand and a moped, despite me having a car. This man well was kind of off. Not like the kindly eccentric off, but like he had so many skeletons in the closet his closet was an apartment on its own. Not many of my moms side showed up, which was odd until I learned why later. But a whole lot of women showed up and some men. He was well off, not a millionaire, but close. Everyone was called to the attorney's office who handled his affairs. I went, and got a kit car, not built, but the kit for a car, basically crates of car parts and a frame, along with body. And a tractor for some strange reason.

But the best part was the fight among his fuck buddies and mistresses over what was "owed" to them. His wife left him long before I was born, and she was not there to collect what he left her. But it was surreal and funny all of the strange men and women, gold diggers to the core fighting over the house he did not even own. He was in a retirement village, and when he was put there, his sister quietly moved in to his old house, since it was technically hers to begin with, their parents made her swear to let him live there as long as he needed to. Apparently she was playing the long game, as she had control of his money, so he went from a playboy to pauper. I left when the police were called.

Work has confirmed once the move starts, everyone will maybe get up to two weeks of vacation, for the set up. So I plan on surprising the family with a cruise, which is turning into a logistical nightmare. Its going to be me, wife, three daughters, because wife cant keep her mouth shut and told our oldest daughters, Mimi, Youngest daughters two friends who are perpetually crashing at my place due to home issues, Ashley + Princess, and Bethany. I called around, and I think I have more than enough, after selling the tractor, which is a full sized farm tractor, sitting, covered in plastic in my back yard now. The car kit is in my once cleaned out garage. I might need to take out a second mortgage for this. I also have to deal with my fear of deep dark oceans too. I blame all those underwater horror movies I watched as a kid. Probably going Royal, cause they quoted the fairest price so far.

What made my week or so, was that a close dear friend of mine fully retired out of the Army after twenty or more years of service. He and his wife came into town and we partied almost every night like we were in high school again. I mean he wasn't gone totally from my life, visiting or calling often, but now he is free, and has to work like a regular guy, since he is too young to draw retirement. He plans on taking over his dad's gun shop. But yeah its been a wild week or two.

WOO.
I never miss when you post about your family adventures.  I can see you writing a cable TV series about your family.

It's your writing talent that makes it so much fun.

I hope you keep the car kit. You must tell us about the fun you have putting it together. :D

Enjoy the cruise and don't worry... not that many people fall overboard. :emot_laughing:

I am not afraid of falling over, I have my divers license, and am rated for deep water, but thats only to a certain depth, I am afraid of the murky black beyond the light. The car kit is a Lotus kit, not a real lotus, but I think I will put it together and sell it, cause I have not reached that stage of age where I need a sports car. Besides, its too small for me. Wife wants to keep it for herself once its complete, and paint it obnoxious neon pink for her everyday drive. Started on it, after weeding the roses with the wife. Its like a grown up lego set. The frame is raised and boy is it not too heavy. I think my great grand uncle got ripped off, it doesnt have a sports car engine, lol, but looks like a vw engine from the parts. might take a trip to the import scrap yard, see if I can buy a better engine that will fit in the small space.

Well I think your wife would probably look really hot in a bright pink car. I say build it.

Kind of reminds me of a book I read and I've been thinking of rereading it the last couple weeks. It's about a lady cop going cross country to find her dad who did the same trip in the same type of car he had. It was a Porsche frame and engine with a VW body on top of it. It was really funny about how highway patrolman would try to stop her and whoosh. She just sped away from anything behind her.
