First guy in was a big husky guy and he only had one small piece of equipment in one hand. Second guy also a large man and he had one medium size bag. Finally a young short skinny kid came in with three or four bags. He was really struggling with them too.

I looked at him as he was going by. I couldn't resist. I asked why did he get all the big bags. "Are you the new guy" I asked. He replied yes and passed by dragging his load behind him.

I can see him getting all the dirty jobs at the station too until another new guy/gal comes in.

Was one humorous event out of the bad night. Wife is doing well BTW.

I would think they would put the emergency first and save hazing for a more proper moment. I would have brought up the "skinny guys have huge dicks" stereotype. Those huge guys probably saw him in the shower and got all jealous. However considering the circumstance, your mind was elsewhere.

The initial interview was on Friday. I sent a follow up email on Monday (next business day).  Today is Tuesday. So I am still waiting by the phone. It’s a short holiday week, but hopefully I will hear something.

It was a phone interview. The next one is supposed to be on Zoom. A Texas lawyer did a Zoom appearance this week. He joined the meeting with his video ON, and walked into his home studio wearing boxers, a shirt, and tie. The judge ordered him to stand up. He was sanctioned $1500 for that stunt. NEVER join a Zoom meeting with your audio or video “on.”

Guess my wife is doing better. She's being moved from the ICU to a regular room in the hospital sometime today.
I talked to her briefly this morning. She's sounds a bit goofy from the drugs.

The doctor tried to call me but said she didn't get an answer. I was by my phone all day. Wife said she may have given the number wrong.

It's frustrating trying to call. She's nearly blind and can't see the buttons to answer the phone. I have to call the nurse station and they go to her room and  call me then put her on the phone.

Guess the best news is her leaving the ICU. Thanks for all  the words of support. KBs core are true blue friends. :emot_kiss:

A surprise visit by Lolo the nurse.

A surprise because she isn't scheduled until next week but it was lovely to see her.
The reason for the visit ,apart from showing off a pair of gorgeous legs in a very short summer dress [and pink panties I observed] was not to examine Rob but to give us an "anti venom kit" !
Because of the early warm weather the snakes are out and folks who live "rural" should have a venom kit in their fridge. We did not know this.
Sure we know about the snakes ,but we are not frightened of them just very careful where we tread, but we didn't know about the kit.
 Lolo showed us how to use it and what to do after.
We have a picture sheet of all the possible culprits that we should try to identify on our way to hospital.
All scary but interesting stuff.

 But what actually made my day was when Lolo got my medical files out and told me that there was an irregularity/error in them.

 She pointed to my date of birth and said that it was wrong.
I looked ,but no it was in order .
 She looked puzzled and asked was I sure about the year ? I looked again , 1956 all correct. And then she said the most wonderful words ...........................

                                                                                                  " I am so sorry but I thought you were 50 maybe 53".

YEY I LOVE this girl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!   She is most welcome at our house anytime day or night

I just looked up snake varieties in France and there are more than I would have guessed. The poisonous ones are vipers. One person dies every ten years from a poisonous snake bite in France the article cited. I will file this under what did I learn today.  8)

That my wife and I are alive. The HVAC workers this morning removed 15 feet of twigs, leaves and other junk from our chimney, plus a family of squirrels. No one could figure out why carbon monoxide had not seeped into our house over the time it took the rodents to build their nests. We have a carbon monoxide sensor near the furnace and chimney and it never detected any carbon monoxide. Now, everything has been cleaned out and a new liner installed. The squirrels had chewed through not one layer of aluminum to build their nests, but two layers. Worse than termites.

Guess the little tree rats built the nest loose enough that the CO,2 could still get through. Don't know why it didn't kill the furry invaders. Have you had CO2 detectors tested?
