We watched the Big Ten Championship.   Michigan beat Iowa 20-0.

Prior to the game, I read about a bar owner in Iowa that was serving free beer from the beginning of the game, up until the Iowa team scored (or until the end of the game).   I was hoping for a field goal somewhere in there. Poor guy.


'A' had a wonderful birthday.  She wanted Dan's Chilli for her birthday dinner.  I made a cake, and chocolate chip cookies.  Some ice cream.  I had a little bourbon.  I was thinking my stomach would be a rumbling volcano, but it endured. haha

The best part.  The middle one facetime the birthday girl from the car on the way to a party,  apologizing for not being able to come.  Little did I know, that she was actually on her way home.  So, we had the whole family together.  We played 'SORRY', which I HATE, but bd girls wishes, Yahtzee and Phase 10.  Late night. Fun night.  Everybody still sleeping at 9:40am. 

And I don't think I mentioned that the middle one turned 21 over Thanksgiving weekend.  That was fun. 

Speaking of Thanksgiving weekend, in front of everyone at the dinner table, the middle one told me was thankful to me for all I do for her, and apologized for being a little shit to me in Dan's and my early days.  She told me she also loves me for being so accepting of, and including her mother in on our activities.  So yeah, we had a nice cry together over dinner, along with her mother..

Earlier, I mentioned we should have people over before the holidays.  Sent out a text to our peeps.   And next thing you know, 20 friends are coming over this Friday.  Not one person or couple said they couldn't make it.  So, spent the day decorating the interior of the house.  It really looks great.   Dan was outside cleaning yard most of day.  We're both whipped. 
Tomorrow is food shopping day.  All finger foods/aopetizers. 
Figuring out some group party games. 
A lot to do Thursday and Friday.  Baking, prepping. 
So fun, but stressful.  Hired two of the oldest's friends to serve/maid/clean during the party. 
I'll be stressing come Thursday night and Friday morning.

Heard from our friends in Michigan. Their son was one of the officers whose promotion from Captain to Admiral was being held up by one senator. He was protesting the military's policy on abortion

The senator finally backed down today. The Senate quickly approved the promotions for hundreds of top officers. Our friend's son is one of those promoted.
Needless to say they're happy for him. We share their happiness.

That made my day. :D

We had our “monthly” firm meeting yesterday on Zoom. I was the number one producing attorney in the office for November.

I have thought for a long while that they were planning on sacking me. I think now they will never can me. I am the only person here with major big firm experience. I am a closer. Everyone else is “working from home” in their pajamas, not doing shit. Sad.

We have our party tomorrow.  In good shape as of now.  Been busting my butt on getting the house ready, food shopping, etc.   

So anyways, that's why I've been MIA.   

Just taking a minute for myself right now to chill for a bit.
