Thanks for the hug Toe. Of all the things I've been doing though these past several months: cancer, heart attack, Covid and now my sciatica,.all those together didn't hurt as much as losing Neville.

Like everything else I can depend on support from friends, neighbors and of course my KB family.

I was able to log in on one of the first days back, but that lasted about thirty seconds, until I had a "session expired" error. I kept having that problem over and over, and sometimes it would even tell me my username was incorrect, though I just figured out the latter a few minutes ago...

Anyway, I was here in spirit some of the time, as a guest, but reading about Rick being away and Neville passing bummed me out a little. Also, it sounds like I missed out on a special avatar from MJ 😭

Rare day yesterday. My usual trips out of the house are visits to the VA for appointments or grocery store. My wife hasn't been out of the house for I don't know how long.

Our record snow and ice have kept isolated. Yesterday we had temps in the 40s. Still lots of snow, but roads and sidewalks are clear.

So off we we went. Stopped at a grocery store and picked up the only kind of water wife will drink. (don't ask) On to our favorite Italian restaurant for Sunday dinner. We feasted on our favorites.with enough left for another meal tonight.

Now paying the price this morning. Wife is totally wiped out and my legs are suffering shooting pains. Was it worth it? Yes, we needed an outing before cabin fever attacks.

Last diabetes doc visit was about a month ago. Went great but she had me start cutting back on insulin some more. My numbers started going up which I didn’t like but she said as long as I was under 200 that I should see it start dropping again after a week or so. Yesterday I had a sugar low. Got to 67 and I ate a bit to bring it back up. That 67 was with lower insulin and eating normal. I’m liking the thought that at some point I might be on even less insulin or none at all. Would be nice after all these years to be off all these daily shots.

I just made a short ski run  down a mountain. :D

Ok. I guess you could say it was virtual. My daughter called from the top of Whiteface Mountain. It was a video call and she panned the camera around. What a view!

Next she made a short ski run with the camera pointed ahead. Gave me a virtual ride for about a minute before she pulled off the trail. We chatted briefly as other skiers went flashing by.

A fun call seeing the daughter and son-in-law enjoying spring skiing.

Whiteface Mountain is by Lake Placid, NY.  That's where the 1980 Winter Olympics were held. What technology can do. Being on  top of a famous mountain doing a video chat with my daughter. :D

I do virtual shopping sometimes with my foster daughters. We go to H&W, or GAP, and I pan the camera around the store until they see something they like. And then I lay out the outfits on the floor or the counter. Box it and ship.
