Doorbell rang and outside was our neighbors up the street from us. Mom was there with one of the girls. Looked up the sidewalk to see dad crouching down with a camera and their five year old bringing the dog on a leash.
Video was being shot. I was worried because all neighbor dogs know there's treats at our house. Usually people just drop the leash and let the dogs charge up on their own. I had visions of Moose charging ahead with a kid flying behind in the air.
Dad was ready and grabbed the leash and soon the whole family was on the front porch. In the summer the girls are regular visitors. Winter, the visits are much less.
In addition to seeing everyone, Moose got the doggie treats he was expecting.
Our other treats were some artisan bread and a couple off plate size cinnamon rolls with thick frosting. Should last us all week.
So, was a special surprise, almost as good as the video call from my daughter earlier. Her husband used their tractor to beat down a path through the deep snow for their terrier's walk through the woods. The dog was cute to watch as she romped down the trail sniffing at various messages. Best is when they get to the road. The dog stops and waits for the OK. When traffic is clear Mom says ok and she charges across the road and home to her own yard. Also all three will be here in mid-April for a long visit.
