You can gripe when the temp hits 38 C or more.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Summer in Dubai........Normal temperature is 38 C with an occasional 42 C for good measure. (Unless you happen to be in Kuwait then 40 C is normal.
And that temperature really sucks for Horses and People too.

Liz

The Tiger game finally ended and my brother-in-law let me change the channel.   I groaned when it went into extra innings.  So boring.

Attended a High School Honors Convocation with my friend to see her niece.    I was so impressed hearing of the accomplishments these bright young kids made over these last 4 years.   There are some intelligent young minds heading off for higher education and have high hope they all will do great things.

I met someone today, and just did what I felt was right. She texted me thanking me. I said, "For what? I haven't done anything."

She replied, "Don't underestimate your impact on people, or how much some one may need you."

It was sobering, and humbling.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

A baby laughing uncontrollably.     6:30am in a coffee shop.   Everybody walking in like zombies.   And there was this beautiful 15 month old laughing at her mommy.   I couldn't leave until she stopped laughing.   I stood and observed.   I noticed every person in the place went from zombie like status to smiling and laughing at the baby before walking out with a smile on their face.

I am sorry but I have not had a happy day in the past 10 years.

At best I can hope for a day that might contain a few laughs, maybe a moment or two of unrewarded success, possibly even a dining experience where I didn't feel like I was taking up a table that the waitress could have made more money on had there been more than one sitting at it.l

The there at the other days. Best I can do for this topic is not talk about them.

Was supposed to be on vacation right now, but took the kids to the park this morning and had a great time. would have missed if sitting on a beach in a bikini having my every desire met by servants.

What made my day today? Fixing the problem on my motorcycle today that I created yesterday. New windscreen is installed and takes care of the problem I was encountering.

That is all.

My mom gleefully shared the cards she got for my Dad's birthday.

On the front one said, "You're one year OLDER."

Inside it said, "you're getting closer and closer to that age where a life sentence isn't really that big of a threat."

The other one read in the front, "you the man"

On the inside it read, "the old man, but still the man. Happy birthday"

Road trip into Essex early today... weather dampish... Essex girls and women are something else... Low cut tops...  clinging jeans... see through material... Had to come home though... bad for the health... my health...
