Great Thanksgiving feast at friends house. They put on a huge feed for the four of us. Even sent home a bunch of left overs with us.

Hope everyone else had a safe and happy day.

Wednesday before thanksgiving, I spent the entire day with my sister. We watched some Amazon prime, baked, cooked, and did a LOT of talking. She loves to bake, and is way better at it than I am, but we make a good team. We missed out on doing it last year because of covid, and the year before, we had our own thing to take care of. Anyways, it was great to be back over there with her again.

The conversation did get around to Ben, and me introducing them, she broke her silence, and shocked me by saying she is already starting to see somebody. She gave me all the details, but for secrets sake, I can not tell more. She finally told the whole family yesterday during thanksgiving, so the secret is out, which is why I said this much. We will all meet him sometime between now and Christmas.

We had so many people over at my dad's house yesterday. All family and relatives through marriage. Not sure how he got that done, but he did it. There were some cousins that had to leave early to make it to in laws, but otherwise we all stayed there. I stayed really late to finish cleaning, and spent the night there. Up early home to shower and then to work.

I had so much fun with everbody, and we all had a good laugh as Detroit lost yet again.

Shiela's, I love hearing about the great time you have with your family. Guess Ben's missing out on a good thing with your sister having a beau.

Thanks for sharing your nice holiday.

Had a visit from the family up the block. Mom, dad both little girls and Moose the dog.

With colder weather, we haven't seen much of the girls lately. They loved to come visit when playing outside.

Wife has made a lot of doll clothes for the kids and she had a couple outfits for the girls.

In return, the kids had made a hand colored card for us and included an expensive chocolate bar. (Yeah, that's gone now)
A bonus was a slip in the card. It was a gift certificate at wife's favorite fabric store. $150.00.! Way too much, as wife never wants payment for the doll clothes she makes.

Thanksgiving, part 2.
Wife's son came by to enjoy the belated holiday with us. He loves the double pay he gets for working holidays.

We quit cooking big meals years ago, so off to the restaurant we went. Had good food, well taken care of by a favorite waitress and took home pie for tonight.

Wife's son kept checking his watch. Had to be home by one for the start of today's Minnesota Wild hockey game. Huge fan...has bug collection of their jerseys which he wears every where.

Got him home with minutes to spare for the game. As we were close to the fabric store my wife just got a gift certificate for, that was next stop. (See above post)

She went wild a has good supply of fabric.

So I have a client that's been harassing me because orders on his e-commerce site keep failing.  Working through everything I conclude that the failure is on the payment gateway side, not on my side. A payment gateway he chose.

"No. It's still your fault. This is unacceptable"

This morning he phones sheepishly to admit I did nothing wrong, the fault is the gateway side, and I need to update some details to make it work. Will I charge for it?

Yes motherfucker.  ;D

Got a text from friends with an invite to their house Sunday to watch the new James Bond movie. Don't think I've missed any of them since first one came out in the 60s.

As a teen I read all the books. Some hot fap material considering the uptight views back then.  :emot_laughing:

Oh yes. Had mental image of Pussy from the book. When the movie came out, Honor Blackman totally matched my fantasy. ;D

Yes youngster. There were books before the movies. They were spendy. I think I paid 50 cents per paperback book. Candy bars were a nickel too. See what you missed being born so late. :emot_laughing:

Who could forget Ursula Andress in Dr No? Every Bond girl resulted in some young man's wet dreams. 8)

Goldfinger was the first James Bond movie I ever saw. Being a barely pubescent teenager (I was 14 at the time), I thought her character name was uproariously funny. All these years later I'm amazed that they got away naming her Pussy Galore in 1964.

Maybe it's because we had just come out of the 'idyllic' 1950s.  (Forget the calendar, in my opinion, the 1950s ended abruptly on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.)

I don't know how it got past the censors during a decade when you couldn't even say the word 'pregnant' on television, but it was funny as hell.

Bringing us back on topic... what made my day was my Medicare Wellness Exam. Not so much that I was given a clean bill of health, I expected that.

No, what made my day was the smart-ass prank I pulled on my doctor.

At the beginning of the exam, they say, "I'm going to give you three words and you need to remember what they are because I'll ask you to say them before you leave."

I got really excited and said, "Ooh, can I have apple, table and penny?"

The look on the guy's face cracked me up. You see, they always use the same three words, which I remembered from last year.

What can I say, I'm easily amused.  :emot_lmfao:

HELL FUCKIN YEAH!!

There are nine of us that live in a row that have the same landlord. So, two of my neighbors became besties. They would sit out front, drink mass quantities of beer and verbally abuse anyone that came within view or earshot. Thing is, these guys were humored in that the landlord was trying to do the christian thing letting them stay and these two drunks were in no condition to fight any of us. So, one day, one of them tried to pick a fight with one neighbor and then tried to pick a fight with another neighbor the next day. We had enough and as one we all called the landlord. So, troublemaker number one was evicted on the first and today, his bestie moved out as well. Hell yeah.

Saw the Wisconsin comedian Charlie Berens last night... but I'm sure you all know that already 😉
I think he is an absolute riot. He had me.laughing so hard my side was starting to hurt. Allan is a bears fan, so he wasnt a fan of some of the jokes, but that just made them funnier to me.

It was me and Allan, and a couple of his buddies. He introduced me as "a friend that works at Kindie's (his dog) vet" I appreciate that he's willing to deal with my relationship oddities. His friends were nice and very polite. They are all former Marines, and I could tell even before they told me.

It was a lot of fun

Took our next door neighbors out to a nice lunch today. They help us out so much. Mow our lawn and shovel snow in the winter.

We all feasted on walleye...our state fish. Place we took them is famous for the way they prepare this Minnesota delecacy. Had great talk while enjoying our food.
