. . . . Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, even knew a Burmese place years ago.

I can say that I've eaten Chinese and korean. That's about it.  Ate plenty of Korean food. But I was always wary when we would go anywhere and get anything made with red meat.  they eat dogs there and it terrified me that if I wasnt careful, I'd eat dog meat. So I would stick to yaki, which is made with pork, and seafood.

I stopped eating seafood when I went to a high end restuarant with some soldiers and katusa, and they brought out a large octopus that was still moving around. The koreans just started hacking into this thing and gobbling up tentacles. I didn't eat anything other than one piece of yaki mandu and some bread.

A little embarrassing but the only card game I know to play is solitaire

Strip Solitaire is not much fun.

Then stop playing solitaire alone.

But you're guaranteed a win.  Even if you lose the game, you know for a fact you're still going to win :aol_diddle:

Octopus is my favorite regardless if it’s Korean, Japanese, Greek, Peruvian, Mexican, Spanish or whatever.  I’ve had it all.

It would be illegal to serve dog n the U.S., and increasingly unlikely in Korea too.

A rare morning with temps in the upper 40s. I was really tired of all those mornings in the 30s.

We celebrated by having breakfast on the back porch...a tradition we started Last summer. Yeah, it was a bit chilly, but we made the most of it.

Cats were happy too. Not having to wait fore to finish the paper before taking them outside. We proped the back door open and they wandered the back yard as we enjoyed breakfast.

I too had a great morning. Went on a long run. Didnt do an MJ marathon, but I did about 5 miles. Indidnone lap on my.long route which is just over three miles, but I cut my second lap short and did about two miles.

On top of that, there appears to be a new couple who moved in around the corner, and they have a set of dogs. Two chocolate labs, a senior that has a lot of grey on his beautiful face, and a pup who couldnt be more than 2 years old. Kind of the reason I did more than just one lap, I wanted to see the cute pups again, and the younger lab wanted to run up to me while the senior just laid in the front yard.  There was no fence, but they had one of those leashes you stick into the ground. So he stopped about half way to me, and just barked.

Maybe I'll introduce myself some other time, or maybe I'll run into them at work some day.

I had face to face court appearances on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week, for the first time in a year. So nice to put on a coat and tie and be in a courtroom. Today I have a Zoom Pretrial.

5 miles is better than no miles.

And MJ hasn't done a marathon, let alone a 7 mile run, in what seems like forever!
Been walking with the oldest.  We Walk & Talk.  At least it's moving and happy to have her up moving.  I'll get some miles in shortly, just have to quit putting it off.
Dan on the other hand ran 17 today.
Bleachers for all of us tomorrow.

Walking and talking is the best form of exercise. Lot easier on your knees than running. We have been doing it for many many years.  8)

I'd rather do the 17 miles every day, than one day of bleachers

Thank you my friends, right back at you.  I got more to say, but perhaps I’ll move it to the tread meant for it.

Went out with my friends, and my cousin shelby last night for a few cocktails and some food.  The place we went to was having their friday fish fry, but I got a chicken club sandwich instead ever since I started hearing about this seaspiracy. I dont know what us true and what isn't, but I'm a little more hesitant when I think about ordering sea food. No live band this time, which would have been preferable, but we spent about $50 just on the touch-tunes and taking over the place with our choice if music.

I had a good amount of margaritas and had a blast until I took my fall, then it was just sitting at the bar sipping my drinks. I did get a few free ones which always makes the night just a bit more fun.

This is sort of a “what made my day and ruined my day“ event.  I got out bed this morning, and pulled off my socks. My big toe was black. I don’t mean a little black. I mean coal black. So you know I’m a diabetic, and we all have this inordinate fear of gangrene and infections in the extremities. It looked necrotic. I sent a photo to a doctor friend of mine, and he said “get thee to an emergency room immediately. You might have severe septicemia, gangrene, or even require an amputation, depending on the bloodwork.”

So I set off for the hospital, fully expecting to come home less of a man. They all worked on me, and did the x-rays, the bloodwork, etc., and then came the diagnosis. I have a fractured metatarsal. And not a serious one. It’s not even displaced. I don’t need a cast, or a splint. Yes my toe is black, but it will return to normal color in time.

I’m not one to break bones. This is probably the first accidental fracture I’ve had since I was a child. I’m truly relieved.

My uncle is diabetic. Has to take the shots. He's always talking about be scared of losing a foot or something. Happy to hear it isn't anything too serious. Hope it clears up real soon.

Also diabetic here. It's always a worry...parts falling off. Keeps me doing my daily blood tests and taking all meds.

When in my teens met friends of grandparents. The guy would wake and find a toe had fallen off in the night. He ended up losing both legs above the knee.

What’s with us getting injured this weekend?  Sounds like the dark color was bruising, but I get your fear it was diabetes related.  My mother and younger brother have diabetes, but not me so far.

What day made my day today, was hearing how many of my KB friends have had non-serious injuries. First, it doesn’t make me feel so alone. Second, you can kind of laugh about it now. Didn’t seem very funny at the moment though.  Margarita party on the injured reserves bench.

The lilacs are starting to bloom. The pretty smell of them hit me as soon as I step outside. We have a few bushes around where I work, and a wall of them where I live.  Love the smell of them.
