It's the New Year.   2019 !!!   Yay!!!   With the beginning of this new year, I take all those things that made 2018 not so great and put them in a box and file them away.  I will focus on 2019 and all the great all opportunities that will come with it.  This new year brings optimism. I wake up this morning with the power of positive thinking and I can't help but smile.

Watching the swearing in of Michigan new leadership today.

The highlight so far being Michigan's first openly gay person being elected into a top position.   Dana Nessel, our new Attorney General, thanked her two sons and her wife for their support.

We were supposed to go back to Canada in December to visit friends like we did a couple years ago, but we had to cancel.

We made the decision to wait till Summer and take the tribe like we did with New York last Summer.  :D

The 6 asked if Canada was a weird place.  :emot_laughing:

I started following Tottenham about seven years ago. They're one of those "close but not too close" teams, who have been hovering between 5th - 3rd place for the last four or five seasons. And I'm very happy to see them in 2nd place.

Of course, this is a snapshot at one specific moment. They're only one point clear of Man City, which, being objective, is a better side than Tottenham. And there's still 17 matches left this season.

Still, the "big five" teams -- Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal -- have dominated English soccer for decades -- and it's great to see a team outside that group rising up the table. Just got an email from our lawyers office. 
We will be finalizing adoption of my niece to my husband on Monday. 
I am so flipping excited, right now.

Only a few know this but, eventhough I refer to her on KB as my niece, and I always will, legally she is my daughter.  I adopted her after my sister passed away and when we found out my brother in law was sick.

To her, I will always be Aunt (real name).  And she will always call Mark by his real name.

Thank you all. 

We're all so excited.  We actually went out to dinner last night at our favorite restaurant and had an (4 day early) celebration before Mark's oldest travels back to her university later today. 

Monday they will officially be stepsisters and my niece will have a new daddy.   Why was I the only one crying tears of happiness last night when the word sisters was brought?  hahaha  Why are my eyes watering now typing this?
