Corded phones?  :emot_laughing:

Everyone in my house, except the toddlers, have smart phones.  ;D

We ain't had a corded phone in forever.  :D

Yeah, yeah. And you've never had to lick a stamp. Or physically walk over to the TV to change the channel or volume. Or use an outhouse in the middle of the night. Or warm a baby bottle in a saucepan of water. Or answer a phone without knowing who was calling.

I could go on, but what's the point. You younger generations have got it made!  And you don't even know how easy you got it. ;D

At least Jed, Slave, Toe and Watcher all know what I'm talking about. You're outnumbered young lady.

One day (sooner than you think) your kids are going to be as old as you are now. We'll see who's laughing then.

PS: There was something else, but I forgot what it was...

This is what we call GOMS.  Grumpy Old Man Syndrome.

My son does not know who Groucho Marx or the Marx Brothers were.  I expressed disbelief, so he asked me who “PewDiePie” is.  I had no idea.

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, is a YouTuber with 40 million subscribers (called “bros”, all part of the "Bro Army"), and is the most famous YouTuber in the world, with $17 Million estimated annual earnings.  So there’s that.

Oh I've had GOMS for years now. Not to mention CRS (Can't Remember Shit). Or maybe CRS is just a symptom of GOMS.

I do remember telling (warning) my kids years ago that I wouldn't be slipping into old age gracefully so they might as well get used to having a GOM to deal with.

I know what you mean about so-called 'celebs' because my daughter keeps naming people I've never heard of. She challenged me to name one current pop singer. Hah! I named two... Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift.

Of course, I couldn't name even one song that either one has done but I've heard of them. And, oh yeah Katy... something. Never mind.

I remember now. I was going to tell CJ that she was at a disadvantage because I've been her age and remember what it was like. Some of it anyway.  :D

CJ hasn't been my age yet, and has no clue what to expect.   :-*

PS: Happy holidays to one and all.  :sign_greatbighug:

CJ was alive before wifi existed. And I remember the very first time I went on the internet. It was like a whole new world opened up. Then it got really boring because streaming video didn't exist yet. My mommy spent a fortune on that computer that's literally worth less than a DVD is today.

Now I feel old.

My kids don't even know what life was like before YouTube or Netflix, they assume they always existed.

I have the house to myself, so I'm falling back on an old tradition.  Watching really bad movies, and lazily beating off on the couch.

Up next:  Rock & Roll Nightmare/The Edge of Hell.

I've got a big pot of mutton soup with lentils, and barely.  Okay, a sheep died, but other than that, it's looking like a pretty good day...

Texas Chili.  Carne asasda, sausage, ground beef... it has been simmering all morning, so the house smells like a chili parlor.  Hot, but not off the Scoville heat scale.  And some dark beer.  Santa can follow the fart trail to my house.   :emot_laughing:

King crab legs for dinner, skillet corn, tomatos, a vodka tonic and a nice wine.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Egg and cheese soufflés turned out perfectly on Christmas morning.

Everyone got what they wanted. My grandma and wifey booted me out of the kitchen.  ;D It's almost 50 fuckin' degrees today! Sunny, almost no wind. The kids, the dog, the cat... everyone went to the park after presents to enjoy what might be the last nice day of weather we'll get for a long time.

My house smells like Christmas. Even though I don't like the holiday, I love my family being here. And I loved seeing the kids get stuff they wanted. Stuff that cost a small fortune. You would not even believe how much Christmas has cost between me, wifey and the other income generators in this house.  You literally coulda bought a car with what we spent.

I spent exactly 50-bucks on Christmas. I suppose I coulda got a MatchboxTM car for that...  :emot_laughing:

Remmy

PS: My wife spent considerably more than that, buying for the whole family. I'll end up paying that too I guess, but I won't know how much until the credit card bill comes. ^-^

CJ hopes the apocalypse arrives before her credit card bill does.  :emot_weird:

My sister and her wifey got an SUV early, so technically we coulda bought 2 cars.

I sometimes wish we were poor. Damn it, why did my mommies have to be so financially successful?  And scorching hot.  ;D

One of my favorite Vloggers bitching about a really bad made for TV movie.  I had to go out yesterday, it sucked, so maybe my standards are low this morning?

Update:  Also, this.

I (indirectly) helped save a life a couple of days ago, and found out about it today.  Details in the "I'm gonna be a teacher!" thread if you can see it.   ;D

That's put me on cloud nine this afternoon.

Remember the Golden Rule: you do me, and I\'ll do you (paraphrased)

Several posts reminding us you're in Florida. Do you have to rub our noses in it?   8)

I'm guessing it's not 37 degrees and raining...  :(
