Visit with my brother-in-law yesterday.   He seemed so out of it on Saturday when I first saw him, and again on Sunday.     Yesterday he seemed much better.  Then one of the care attendants came in to talk to me.

She said he was doing magic tricks with playing cards earlier in the day for the residents and visitors.   Something he hasn't done in at least 5 years that I know of.  The attendant said she herself was very much entertained with about 20 tricks.  She said the Fedex man who was delivering a package had stopped to watch and commented he couldn't figure out how the tricks were being done, and he was an amateur magician .  She also told me the onsite physician had come out and observed him and was amazed that he could do what he was doing with his current condition.

Kind of really good news that made me very happy, especially after my weekend visits.

I get to spend time with my Basset buddy Gus today.  His "mom" is dealing with a very ill nephew and she's with the rest of the family.

We'll be going to the dog park and walk with his pack.  They all love it when he comes back.  Think I might have him tomorrow too.  To bad it's due to such sad circumstances.

Also my daughter and son in law are here for a couple weeks visit from New York. We're going out for lunch and the women will do some shopping afterwards.  Bob get to drive and tag along.

Thank you MS.   I can never recall who knew him and who didn't.  So to hear you say that brought a smile to my face.    And enjoy your daughters visit back home.  That's great.  It must be tough having your baby live so far away, but makes her visits back home even more special.

Thank you also, Joan.   :)

The sun is out, and the young ladies have gone from thick coats and heavy jeans to crop-tops and shorts or flirty skirts.

Damn, it's hard to keep my eyes on the road!

Loving the new job.  I’d really forgotten what success feels like.  The power.  The high rise office, valet parking, catered lunches, etc.  And it makes Daddy horny too.  Wifey likes being my bouncy house again.  The pay is fantastic.  Big changes.

Always was, but hard to be enthusiastic working out of a crappy office, with untrained and unqualified staff, and equipment so shitty, you have to bring your own computer and scanner from home.  Not to mention an employer who treats paychecks like a personal favor, and payday as an optional event.  “Listen dude, these people have *lent* you two weeks of their lives.  Paychecks aren’t a favor, they are an obligation.”

I am a serf in Corporate America.

But to make up for that I have two other positions.

Leader of my cell in the People’s Corporate Liberation Army, and I am a Zombie Apocalyse Assault Team Leader.

Meant to mention that Mark and I went to the Detroit Broadway performance of The School of Rock.

Loved it.  Hilarious and loved seeing kids so musically talented perform live.   It was so much fun.

Corresponding with a friend I haven't chatted with in a while.  She's one of those rare gems that you just wish there was a way she could be part of your everyday life.

Also, my future step daughter has moved in with us.  She moved the rest of her clothes yesterday.  I'm just giddy happy to have her home from university and spending the summer with us, which means her little sister who stays with mom will likely be visiting more often now.   I'm going to need to start setting a bed time for myself, like I do for my niece, this sitting up talking until midnight is going to catch up to me.  Mark and I are taking her and her friend Axe throwing on Saturday. Yes, Axe throwing.  Drinking and throwing an axe, what could go wrong?

Lastly, a GREAT 6 mile run yesterday, with my favorite running partner, the after shower with him was nice too.  It was 80 in Detroit Woo to Mother Nature.  No more elliptical or tread mill until November, hopefully.  And a new pair of running shoes being delivered by Amazon before days end.

Today's "make my day", is coming home from a three day, two night trip.  Went to the western edge of Minnesota, spitting distance to So. Dakota.  Lot's of wildlife refuges in the area.  A couple others from our camera club went also.  Lot to birds to see and "shoot" (camera only)

Had a lot of fun, got some great pictures but coming home is nice.  The cats agree.  They'll be all over us again for a few days, trying to convince us not to go away again. ;D

Saw tons of American Pelicans, many variety of ducks (who like to stay out of camera range).  My favorite that's rare around here is the Yellow-headed Blackbird.  So pretty.  They were everywhere over there.  Like Red-winged Blackbirds, they're found in areas dense with cattails.

Good to be back and start following my KB friends!
