I told my father I wish he was dead.  :D

I haven't spoken to my father in 19 years.

To get a short break from an out of town in-law that is staying at our house, my boyfriend and I went to a downtown Detroit casino hotel for some fun.    I won $270 dollars playing blackjack, he won $210 playing craps.   That paid for our hotel room and our couples massage.   After a wonderful hour long massage we enjoyed our time in our candlelit room looking out over the city lights.

The only bummer was we had to be back home early because he was taking his youngest daughter to a softball camp/college visit today.

It doesn't feel lucky.  Especially around Father's Day, when all my friends are all posting pictures of their dad, and saying what a grand old inspirational role model he is or was... I only wanted a normal dad, who liked me, and wanted to spend time with me.  The type of dad I'm trying to be for my own children.

Yeah, I got the opposite.

Picking up an hour.  I feel so much better now.  Fully rested and ready for a new week.

I know.  I love this feeling.    I feel refreshed.     This tells me I need to get to bed earlier.

What made my day.....
An out of town visitor has been staying at our house the last two weeks.   The flight out is today.   Things will be back to normal when I get home.

New recliner sofa and rocker recliner delivered this morning. Now the missus and I need to figure out a way to reduce the amount of pet fur that will accumulate on them.

That is all.

Wasn't expecting Mark home until today, late this afternoon.

About 1am this morning as I'm laying in bed sleeping, he came in and crawled in bed with me.   He was supposed to fly commercial, but the company jet had a seat open on it and he was able to get back to Detroit late last night.    Maybe I should be posting about this in this category.  :)

My dad usually goes to a Veterans Day Ceremony but he isn't feeling well enough to go, so I stayed home to work around outside today

About noon, Mark and I went to spend the afternoon with him after some shopping.   He was feeling much better so he wanted to go to a cemetery that one of his friends that he served with is resting.   It was a beautiful day, cold but sunny.   Daddy had brought a six pack and we each had a couple of beers at Ricky's grave site.   My dad was very happy as he told us a few stories about him.  It made his day.

OMG, Mark bet on that game.    He said yesterday "Ohio got beat last week.  MSU beat Pennsylvania, and Ohio is favored by 16.   This is the easiest money I'll ever make."

HAHAHA, he is so mad right now.

Spent all day with my daughter. Just the two of us. She told me in confidence that she wished it was just the two of us on our own without the rest of the family.

I originally intended to move away with her when she was a baby and do just that, but that never happened and in a way I hate it, but I wouldn't have all the other babies and family right now.  :-[

But we both agreed what we'd have lost if that happened would have been awful.  :D

Double time and a half pay on Saturday. November 11, Remembrance Day is a federal statuary holiday in Canada.

That is all.

Back in the days when I worked in industry, the mill was in the middle of the Peak District (a national park), and had a famous stately home on the edge of town, so I worked every bank holiday the mill was running - I got triple time, plus a day off in lieu, and I didn't have to spend the day in traffic jams.

Talked with someone about my love life. Got somethings off my chest. No preaching, it was relaxing. Talked about dogs too.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.
