You miss both the facts and the nuance used in that opinion blog.

First, the fact that implanted microchips are considered as TREATMENT for specific brain related ailments ONLY, is barely mentioned.

Second, the majority of the article concentrates on the insinuation that all citizens will have a microchip implanted to identify them.

The first is true as far as treatment is concerned. The second is plain fear mothering by a conservative hoping to inspire more fear and opposition to Pres. Obama.

In other words, 10%  truth and fact, 90% out right lies and propaganda.

This has been played up and down at least every 6 months for the last many years.  The only time it is going to happen is if enough conservatives take away all the guns in the US via gun control and then start rounding up for a tagging. I'd say that's never going to happen but they are eroding too damned many liberties as it is. The more they are taking away the more people are saying "Don't do that! Or someone else is going to have to get up off the couch and stop you!" until pretty soon it's too late.

It's possible the process has already begun!  They could be placing these chips in people during simple procedures, without the person's knowledge.  There's NO LIMIT to the depths the government will go to.  They're out to gain control totally!!

Also, have these chips been tested yet??  What are the chances the one of them could misfire misfir misfi misf mis mi mmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................

Dgan, again, this is fear mongering. It has not been proposed. It has never been proposed.

The only microchip initiative in the ACA is about treatment for specific brain diseases.

Now if you want to equate conservative thinking with Alzheimer's, then you may have a point.

Kate, I know it hasn't been proposed. My point was that it simply won't happen until they have an ability to prevent a resistance. That is possible if the pattern of rights reductions continues on the pattern that it has. No one wants it but unlike in our history no one wants to sit up and stop it.  The microchip thing is always a possibility just as much as anything else is. Is it something that will happen overnight? No. It would cause a massive revolution if they tried it.  It will take time and conniving to become a reality. I have a feeling I won't be around to see it if it ever does so I'm not worried.

I refused having our dog chipped and opted for the tattoo ID in the ear, because I gathered from scientific studies and stories from other pet owners that microchips often appear to cause cancerous tumors in the area where they are implanted. Stuff that interferes with the bio-electrical field of living things has a tendency to do that. Other than that, I really don't care what other people do. Chip away, do whatever you like, as long I have the free choice to refuse.

That, or English isn't your native language.  Maybe some combination of the three.

I've read the Bible, and I can say with absolute certainty that there IS no mention of microchips in it.  Pig shit, rape, death and destruction, sure, but no high-tech.
