I blame that we no longer require a civic education in public schools. A majority of Americans do not understand our three part "separation of powers" system. They know nothing about the Constitution. They know nothing about how laws are proposed, enacted, or enforced. As the result, they are susceptible to these sort of idiot ideas.

The Constitution and Bill of rights was not written to tell us what we can and cannot do, but written to tell the government what it can and cannot do to its citizens. There is nothing absolutely free in this world. Break it down, and you see there is a price to be paid for every choice and action. A cup of water. Water is a finite resource. Drinking it denies another the chance to have it. I was taught anything free is not worth having. All I hear when I hear "Government Gimme Free" is "Government Take more of my money." People cite countries with free stuff like health care, and not see the fact that the tax rate is much higher there.

My son came to visit today. He asked how I’ve been doing, and I honestly admitted I have never been more at rest, less anxious, and more worry free.

The hardest thing was admitting I was sick of 80 hour weeks, 12,000 mile monthly mileage, bitchy clients, a-hole opposing counsel, and fucktard Generation X imbeciles in the office.

Free at last.
