French toast for dinner.

Leftovers for breakfast this morning.  It wasn't quite as good as last night.

Probably depends on how you flavor the syrup?  This is my preferred way.

Wifey made slow cooked roast, mashed potatoes and gravy and rolls.

It sounded like feeding time for pigs at the dinner table.

I'm still astonished how much food little girls can consume.

FOOD PORN!  ;D

Paleo and AIP; the breading is almond flour (could have used almond meal) with arrowroot to hold it together.  It's a blend of orange chicken + herbed chicken, and BOY! does my house smell terrific.  No recipe, I just winged it (drumsticked it?) and it worked out.  Maybe a little less garlic next time around, but something in my system is telling me I *need* garlic right now.  I have this overwhelming craving for the smell of hot garlic.  Thank goodness I don't have IBS or other bowel issues!

Pappadeux’s Seafood.  Texas joint. Lobster bisque, oysters on half shell.  I had a lobster shrimp and crabmeat salad served chilled.  My lovely Russian had a blackened mahi mahi with shrimp scallops and crab meat.  Oh, and key lime pie for dessert.

Chicken frittata. OMG.  It was good.  Left over roast chicken, carrots, onions, cheese, with eggs.  Baked to perfection.

With a slight pinch of nutmeg on top, since theirs didn't have as much as mom's did.

For Yuletide!  Let the wild hunt begin!

I did a Beef Wellington, scalloped potatoes, creamed spinach, and Parker House rolls for Christmas dinner, then had a creme brûlée for dessert.  Nice hearty Cabernet. Ho Ho Ho.

Did you do the duxelle?

It been a long time since I did a Wellington.  I only did it 3 times I think, just once with beef and at least twice with venison.  Because the venison filet is so much smaller, I was worried about over cooking and still getting the puff pastry brown.  I ended up chilling the seared venison in the freezer until just before it started to freeze.

That sounds like an excellent meal by the way Merv, and a very rich/heavy one, but why not for Christmas dinner.  Me, I'd probably skip the cream and just saute the spinach. . . LOL, but then I put a lot of cream in my scalloped potatoes.
