The last day on Earth has come and gone,
Life as we know it carries on.
No apocalypse or zombies to kill,
So what can we do to have a good thrill?

Well, the New Year has finally come,
Did you celebrate with Vodka or Rum?
Did you indulge in wine or beer
And make resolutions for the New Year?

Did you, perhaps, find someone fresh
And partake in the the joys of the flesh?
Or did you rekindle what once was lost?
Did that old flame come with a cost?

Forget all your grudges and let go your hate,
It's time for us all to wipe clean the slate.
Close your eyes and open your heart,
Give this New Year a positive start.

Note: I actually started writing this last year, but couldn't find the right words to finish it until this year.
