Has anyone found an effective remedy for earworms?

I’ve tried doing mental exercises, or replacing one earworm with another, but nothing works.

Unfortunately no.  I've had days where I've had 1 song on repeat for an entire 10-hour working day.

Same here. Have you identified any triggers that might make you more susceptible to earworms? Tiredness, for example, or maybe a lack of sleep?

You say, "Goodbye" and I say, "Hello, hello, hello"
I don't know why you say, "Goodbye", I say, "Hello, hello, hello"
I don't know why you say, "Goodbye", I say, "Hello"
I say, "High", you say, "Low"
You say, "Why?"
And I say, "I don't know"
Oh, no!
You say, "Goodbye" and I say, "Hello, hello, hello" (hello goodbye, hello goodbye, hello goodbye)
I don't know why you say, "Goodbye", I say, "Hello, hello, hello" (hello goodbye, hello goodbye, hello goodbye)
I don't know why you say, "Goodbye", I say, "Hello" (hello goodbye)

Do you remember
The 21st night of September?
Love was changin' the minds of pretenders
While chasin' the clouds away…

Now don't be sad
(Don't be sad, 'cause two) 'cause two out of three ain't bad

I’ve had two guitar solos on the brain this week

The first is Mark Knopfler's incredible solo in Dire Straight’s Sultans of Swing.

The second is Steve Gaines‘s iconic riffs in Freebird by Lynryd Skynyrd. Because the song only fades out at the end, it reportedly has been continuously going on since the 1970’s.

For the past two days I've been experiencing one earworm after another. It's never happened to me before. One earworm for two or three days, yes. Six or seven earworms in one day, never.

I listen to piece of music (classical, rock, folk, pop, whatever) and a phrase from that piece crawls into my head — until I listen to another piece. Earworm No. 1 is replaced by Earworm No. 2, which is replaced by Earworm No. 3, and so on.

Come to think of it, there is one earworm that I welcome. It's Andy Latimer's guitar coda to "Never Let Go" on Camel's 1973 debut album. For some strange and wonderful reason, the haunting melody unfolds in ever-changing patterns. That earworm I can live with.  :D
