The people contributing to this thread, have almost universally so far as I can tell, been raised in one Christian tradition or another. To say that that doesn't qualify them to make fun of Christianity rather begs the question. Ask a recovering Catholic, or someone who is no longer a member of a fundamentalist denomination. Should we reserve our humor only for those things we are fully integrated into?

Most humor is based on pain, and often is used to soften emotional pain, hence gallows humor. Whether we have a right to exercise it where we will and how we will is a matter of taste and in some cases, manners.
