never picked up the art of making piercing whistles by inserting two fingers (or thumb and finger) into the mouth.

I wonder if not being able to whistle has something to do with not being able to control certain muscles in the mouth.

Anybody can whistle with two finger in their mouth.  It just has to do with finger placement.  I've taught people by me putting my fingers in their mouth, then it's the proper placement of lips.

I have taught the thumb/index finger from the same hand formed in a circle folding the tongue back in the center of the tongue.
I have also taught two pinkies folding the tongue back at the sides of the tongue.

Ah, the Whistling Guru. You could monetize your skills by offering Zoom tutorials. Seminars, even.

I knew a lady who did something similar. She offered home security and self-defence advice using the tag: "The Lady Was a Cop".

I can't whistle at all, but while in the Army I found that if I fill my lungs and scream at people, it gets attention.

Tried whiskey, bourbon, tequila, gin, vodka or any of the mixed drinks. Did try Southern Comfort once when it was popular because Janis Joplin always drank it.

Neither have I,
Plan to mix them all together for my first drink!
Though, I guess I’ll have to strap myself down, to prevent myself from stirring up trouble.
Also, who’s Janis Joplin?  ??? ??? ???

It wasn't until I hit the 'quote' button that I discovered that there's a name for that particular pastime — bodyshot. Makes a lot of sense.

It reminded me of a porn video of a drunken party. One of the guys was showing the girls how far he could stretch his sac, and a girl poured beer into it and slurped away.

...had somebody do a bodyshot off of me. I've done one off my friend Amanda, and it got A LOT of attention, but I've never had somebody do one off me.

how far he could stretch his sac,

When I was in the Army, I had a guy in my platoon who had a hole in the crotch of his trousers and would walk around and sat he sat in some gym, and then proceed to pull his sack out through the hole. I didn't drink anything off of it, but I was amazed by how far he could actually pull it through the hole.

... been handcuffed.

22 years ago, I got pulled over for an expired vehicle registration sticker. And the Dallas cop did a warrant search, that turned up an unpaid traffic ticket in Gun Barrel City Texas that I had completely forgotten about. A little town down in Henderson County. Well I’ll be damned if this guy didn’t pull me out of the car, impound my vehicle, drive me down to the Dallas County Jail for processing, and have my ass hauled out to Gun Barrel City in handcuffs. The Gun Barrel City “jail” was a room in a temporary building. I had to call a friend and have him drive 60 miles out to get me. Good to have friends.

I have been handcuffed to the bed a few times. But that’s another story…

Your admirers at KB are patiently waiting for those half dozen stories.  :emot_kiss:

Never have been handcuffed either.

Never have I ever...

Saw the movie Grease.

I've seen some youtube clips of the song and dance, but never watched the movie.

Never have I ever... applied for a passport.

I was reminded when my daughter went to Spain and France earlier this year. I learned she was abroad on Instagram.

This summer my brother is traveling to Germany, back to the area he was stationed during his time in the military.

Next month my grandson is touring the British Isles for ten days with his college choral group. They will be performing most days, but will have plenty of time to be tourists.

I've only been out of the US once, as a teenager. As part of an all-star baseball team, I spent a few days in British Columbia. Maybe that long ago passports weren't required for Canada. Or maybe they were only required for adults.

Yes, I know. I'm old. I remember when dirt was invented. It made the farmers so happy.

Not so shocking with the passport.  I have quite a few friends that never got one.

I'm interested in hearing more about your baseball days.   I'm envisioning shortstop.  Did you spit every 10 seconds when you were out in the field.  What's with that anyways

I was too tall to play shortstop, I mostly played first base. For three years after college I played in a semi-pro league in northern California for $10-$25 a game, three or four games a week. To help with perspective, my apartment rent was $75 a month then. TV cable was five bucks. Gas was around 50-cents a gallon.

Spitting? I have no memory of whether I spit a lot or at all. Early last century a lot of professional players had contracts with tobacco companies and used chewing tobacco during games. That had pretty much changed to chewing bubble gum by the time I was playing.

Back then I took my athletic ability for granted and just assumed everyone else was athletic too. I was well into adulthood before I realized that wasn't even close to being true.

I've never had a passport either, but I traveled a lot when I was in the Army. I've been to, Canada, korea, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Qatar, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. All in 6 years. Most were just a week or two

I've also never played baseball, but my boyfriend at the time got home plate and I was slid into in the dugout...
