Sometimes this happens, almost any thread can go toxic, in this case it was demondelight who reacted to criticism by extraneously insulting another member. Whenever this happens we move the thread to 1408, why? Because we hate banning people here just because they lose their cool and begin insulting others.
I try and take people at face value here, but sometimes, just like Coach, when I see bullshit I just can't help myself calling it out.

I do apologize for losing my cool, however I do not think what Coach did was right or fair. He could have just as easily sent me a PM like I did to him. I am a nice person, but I have a short fuse. One of many things I am working to correct.

Demondelight, Coacheric is a fair minded person, he is amazingly impartial and rarely gets into fights with members( unlike myself.) He has proved to be an outstanding moderator because he cares about the members and KB. But he is also a member and as such can quite legitimately criticise posts he disagrees with. I do not agree that his criticism of your posts was unfair or incorrect, nor do I subscribe to the " you could have sent me a pm." Personal messages are just that, personal and are not the place for board business. Interaction on topics and threads should be conducted on the board that is why it exists.

Grm, just like CoachEric, i am a fair minded person.  And as you are both entitled to your opinions, so is everyone else.
I disagree with both of you in so much as i believe that CoachEric's intensely vehement personal criticism of Demon was out of order (as I've said above).  I got criticised above for not starting something in room1408, but CoachEric could easily have started one himself.

I don't get into arguments very often either on here or in real life.  2 in the 6 months I've been on here and they've both been in response to something other people have said, the first time against me and this time against someone else.

I can see by the testimonies on his profile that CoachEric is well respected, and his karma scores are incredible.  But just like him and your good self, we all step out of line at times.  In your eyes he didn't, but in other's eyes, he did.

You yourself have called it reacting to "bullshit", that's your opinion.  Obviously i don't agree but there we go.

As for the PM, if you're making an intensely personal criticism of someone, isn't that the very definition of personal?

I've no doubt I'll get shouted at for this, but these are my personal feelings on this situation, and i'm as entitled to say them as any member or moderator is

Tangent, of course you are entitled to your opinion, as is every member of this board, and every member sees things differently.  Eric called it like he saw it.  Personally I don't think he stepped out of line and agree with what was posted.

As for the pm's....it is better to put it on the board, that way it doesn't become a "he said, she said" situation.

Tangent, a very well constructed post, well done. Can I say though your views are naive in the extreme, no one can know who each member is in real life here, we are quiet correctly all incognito. As such we can only 'judge' each other by our posts and when its obvious that tales are being woven, who can tell what is true and what isn't?
Board subjects should be kept on the board and not discussed in private that is a true recipe for discord and unpleasant gossip, if you have anything to say say it out loud.

Guess that's what makes discussions so good.

CoachEric, Grm.....i have no axe to grind with either of you.  I've no doubt we'll agree on many many things, and no doubt disagree too.

However, Grm, i do find your latest comments in my direction condescending and a touch arrogant.  But like you say, you judge by the posts that are put on here.
I'm 42, not 12, this is not the first or only forum i belong to.  i know the barriers of societies such as these, but i also know their worth.  We may be incognito here, but you don't know what happens away from here, and the discussions I've had off line. 
I've made some lovely friends online and met them in real life, even met my wife through an online forum at work.  However relationships are formed, it doesn't make them any less real. 

Having said that, there'll be no grudges carried from me.
I'm happy to set aside our differences on this and move on.

Members having issues with a person's posts should be brought up on the board, not a pm.  Members swapping private messages not board related are just that...private.  If you would have read what I responded to you would have known that I was referring to board related pm's.
