I play MobilityWare’s Pyramid, Solitaire, Spider, and FreeCell daily.  I once worked at a law firm where another lawyer compulsively played solitaire all day, every day, at his desk.  They kept trying to erase it or delete it, and he kept reinstalling it.  This was a long time ago.  These days, workstation PC’s don’t have games on them.

It would be interesting to see a figure for the value of the total workhours wasted on solitaire through the years by employees on the payroll.  I bet it is billions and billions.



From a 2011 article in Psychology Today:

Unverifiable estimates (1) of the time American workers waste on such monkey business go as high as 480 million man hours per year. In 2003, C|net estimated, players collectively spent 9 billion human hours on desktop Solitaire. Companies like Coca-Cola and Sears have had Windows solitaire games systematically removed from workstations. (But of course now we have phones to play on, so good luck with that.)

I’ve always used my phone, my laptop, and a hot spot for personal emails, surfing, chat, games, etc.  always assume your employer is looking over your shoulder on the company computer.  It has become much worse through the years.

I’m amazed at how many idiots will open spam or phishing emails and click on links.  We had at least one malware attack per month at my last firm.

My brother in law bought a cocktail table style 60 in one arcade game.   So I play on occasion.

I've been playing 26 DigDug recently.   It's fun.   The only one higher on the list that I've even heard of is Mortal Kombat.  Hated it.   
Oh, and 10 Air Hockey, which I was pretty good at.

This is mostly about Gamers, and not the game it'self, but any reply that starts with "Dude," is going to be extremely dismissive, and condescending.

A direct quote from Youtube:  "Dude, I have tanked all trials except for the new one and Cr+3.  What have you tanked in game?"  What does it matter?  Honestly, this WoW attitude toward tanking is ruining the community of ESO, and I know EXACTLY where it's coming from.  This isn't Azeroth, it's ESO, and the mechanics are completely different.  Intentionally so, but if i mention that Frost Staffs were recently changed specifically for Tanks, then the old conservative "A Tank uses Sword and Shield" dogma comes right out, with the same lecture, right after, "Dude."

I don't mind being called Dude.  I lived in California in the 90s, I know what it means, but at some point, you're using it wrong.  If the only time you call someone "Dude," is to tell them that you're the bestest theorycrafter the world (Any world) has ever seen, and you must be a noob to actually use the mechanics they added to the game so Light Armor Mages can tank too.

Sorry.  Sorry, I just need to vent, and I can't on any of the gamer forums, because then it's 5 people calling me "Dude..."  That, and Tamriel Foundry is pretty much dead.
