Today is the last day of the sale at www.gog.com.

These are already fairly cheap games slashed up to 75%.  They are older games, but fixed to run on newer operating systems so you don't have to hunt around the web for a work around to install it.  They are also DRM free games.  Some games are as low as $1.49.

The Steam sale is also continuing until January 5th.

LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes™

http://videogames.lego.com/en-us/lego-marvel-super-heroes/about/features/

Marvel Super Heroes are assembling for an action-packed, brick-smashing good time!  Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Marvel Entertainment announced today that LEGO® Marvel™ Super Heroes will be available beginning Fall 2013 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Wii U™ system and Windows PC, as well as the Nintendo DS™ handheld system, Nintendo 3DS™ handheld system and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is the first instalment in the highly successful LEGO videogame franchise to feature famous Marvel characters.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes complements the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes construction toy collection, which brings the characters, vehicles and action of Marvel’s renowned universe to the world of LEGO build-and-play adventure. There are currently eight iconic scenes from the X-Men, Iron Man and Spider-Man franchises available and more construction sets tied to the new Iron Man 3 feature film will launch later this spring.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes offers an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds.  LEGO and Marvel fans will enjoy classic LEGO videogame adventure and humor, while playing as their favorite Marvel characters.

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game,” said TQ Jefferson, Vice President, Games Production, Marvel Entertainment.  “If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

In LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, players will unlock more than 100 characters from across the Marvel Universe, including fan favorites like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki and Galactus!  The game will pack in a plethora of super-cool character abilities, combat-like action sequences, epic battle scenes, puzzle-solving and a unique story told with playful LEGO humor.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is being developed by TT Games and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

I've played 2 of the Lego Star Wars games, the Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Lord of The Rings.  I wouldn't call them mind taxing, but they are fun.  Worth a look if you have kids.

What's interesting is they have two DC character games -Lego Batman and Lego Batman 2.  Now they are going to have a Marvel game.

going a little old school. Picked up a Guitar and drum set for the 360. Got Rock Band and downloaded 1600 + points worth of songs over the weekend. Kids and I were playing as a band with me on lead vocals. Had a great time. Wish someone would pick the series back up and start releasing more games. I just won Rock Band 3 on Ebay yesterday and will check out the downloads for that when it comes in. Hope that might be more current

A few thoughts about this situation.

Ralph Nader comparing video games companies to Jerry Sandusky or Catholic Priests is reprehensible.

Kotaku compiled 25 violence as it relates video games to real life studies.  Results were pretty much inconclusive.

http://kotaku.com/5976733/do-video-games-make-you-violent-an-in+depth-look-at-everything-we-know-today

A bill is being proposed by Congress that all games require an ESRB rating, and adult rated video games be prohibited to the sale of minors.

Many indie games don't have an ESRB rating, and there currently is no fine for selling adult-rated games to the underage.

Hmm, might be the nerdiest thing this forums has ever seen, but here's a screenshot of my Skyrim character:

The dog is Barbas, the dog that is half daedric lord. I decided that I wanted to keep him -- a talking dog that is invulnerable to damage is pretty bad ass -- so I never completed the Clavicus Vile
i though, for a moment, your character was the one in the left.  Sorry.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Other than that, I kind of got a second-wind in Skyrim after I got around to buying the Dawnguard dlc and installing some mods. I liked Dawnguard, now I'm waiting for Dragonborn to come out on pc.

I'm still pissed off that they haven't released a dlc expansion that continues the storyline of Skyrim. When you finish that game you are practically a god . . . but you can't even become a jarl of a city. Fuck the empire, fuck Ulfric, I want to rule Skyrim! Talos ain't got shit on me.

Anyone else care to post some shots of your various characters?

When and where do you find that dog? I don't think I've ever come across him

If I'm remembering right, if you talk to the smith in Falkreath, he'll mention something about a dog he saw outside town, then as soon as you head out of town Barbas comes to you. I'm not sure that you need to talk to the smith to trigger it but that's how it happened for me.

Ah I don't think I've ever spoken to the smith, but I know I've been in and out of Falkreath. Thank you for responding, I know what game I'll be playing tonight  ;D
