This is for those of you that enjoy this, the largest secular holiday of the year.
Be it Halloween or Dios de los Muertos, many of us relish reminders of those no longer with us.
I remember my first halloween costume.  I was six years old and dressed as a devil with a red set of long johns and a tail that had been attached by my mom.  To finish the outfit, I had a red rubber mask with a devisish visage.
Perhaps a reference of things to come?
So give generously to those who may grow to be our replacements.
Happy ghosties and goblins.

My niece's Birthday today. We always take the kids over there for dinner and treating. I'll show up just in time to take off into the neighbourhood. Kids will come back with at least half a pillow case full.

Love Halloween

My niece's Birthday today.

Well she certainly picked a fabulous day to be born... tell her Auntie Gina says so!

Anyone into the haunted houses during the next month? The kids are asking to go and their girlfriends are into them also.

I'm looking at going to a four story setup tonight if we can get everything lined up correctly. We have done a bunch of smaller setups but never a large scale setup. All I hope is at $28 a ticket, it's a good one.

Too early for me -

I don't 'do' Halloween before October ;)

I actually don't like scary stuff - movies, houses ... cornmazes...

The kids are scheming and planning their costumes though - and I might need some lube this year to fit into last year's Black Widow getup :)

Anybody else still dress up? For the public that is.

Yeah, I still dress up too. I usually do the zombie theme but I am leaning toward the reaper this year.

Me and about 4 neighbors usually put on a haunted house for the kids of the neighborhood...so fun scaring them till they shake and have nightmares...lol

Anyone have any good ideas/plans for some good props? I always go the DIY route on these things, its cheaper and the kids get to help build too.
I currently have built or I am working on building:  pneumatic launchers that pop in/out of a trash can and a faux grave, mini graveyard with motion activated headstones, motorized phantom on a mini zip-line, motion activated mummy, high-power 20mm led strobes, co2 foggers, and several static props built with monster mud.
I have an arduino and a shit-ton of servos that I am trying to think of a new project for....ideas?

I used to love Halloween. When I was a child we always went trick or treating and my grandparents held a big fancy dress party. Looking back I think it was more for the adults, but we thought it was amazing and would spend ages choosing an outfit and painting faces. When I was at university we always went out partying on Halloween,  wearing raunchy sexy outfits, and we would take extra face paints, and we would only dance with guys if they let us paint their faces. By the end of the night we mainly drew cocks on their cheeks saying they were spiders! Ah those were the days

I love Halloween, I don't get to enjoy it as much with family not being as close as they use to be.

I think my best Halloweens have been when I've been lucky enough to be on holidays in the US.

Always loved it myself.. Unfortunately due to working nights, (and working Fri + Some Sat evenings usually) coupled with limited friends, none that 'do anything' for the holiday, there's been infrequent activities anymore. And the 'parties' at clubs, etc all seemed set for 'couples' so never bothered.

Used to dress up at times for work.. But theres few people on my shift (and now none that really 'have any fun') so its not as fun to do.   Best time i had was when a bit younger working at retailer (kmart in appliances dept while going to tech school) - dressed up in a self-made dyed long-john-underwear outside superhero outfit (with cape of course.) :) Actually climbed up in storeroom rafters for some good 'flying' pics.. :).  And yeah travelled the store 'flying' with a cart :)  Got a pic of that outfit, but not a good one of me in the rafters...  One of the rare 'good' times with the company :). Otherwise been a ninja, vampire, sumo wrestler and a few others for my adult halloweens.

Now recently had got back into anime hobby, and around here (Detroit area) theres a big convention (youmacon) starting the 31st. Had taken time off for that and there's ton of costuming/cosplay but that tends to be anime specific. I do technically have an outfit for a Japan-type of maid however if i wanted to give a bit of crossdressing a go.. :)

On haunted houses.. Never really got into those. Did one some time back but just not a fan i guess.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.

And one of my favorite things about Halloween is...Geminiguy's annual Halloween thread. Will we be able to enjoy this again this year?

Went to a Halloween party on Saturday.  We bought the costumes that afternoon.  We went as scary scarecrow and sexy scarecrow.  I kept saying I was the sexy one, but I wasn’t.

Unlike many Latinas, my Peruvian is not big on showing cleavage despite having a nice one.  The way she fussed at her costume you’d think both nipples were showing.  In the end her mom stitched the front just enough so it hid her bra.  I thought she looked fine before, but at least we went to the party cleavage intact.

The DJ came up to us at the end of the night and gave us a couple free shirts whispering ‘You guys should have won’ [the costume contest].

We got plans to go out on Halloween too, but my suggestion of using the same costumes was nixed.  It’s a different place and unlikely anyone will be there that saw us Saturday, but it seems she likes this and wants new costumes.

That’s great.  We’ve got a mixed holiday.  My oldest son is moving out and starting a job in a new city that’s a five hour drive away.  My youngster, who’s pretty much an adult also, has plans with his girlfriend.  So we could drive into town to go to a party, but given the distance and time involved, not to mention drunk revelers on the road, we will probably just pass out candy and call it a night.
