I was just listening to a block of Bob Seger on my local Rock station [go, Michigan!] and decided to Google to see if he had a new album coming out [I have most of his CDs, including the awesome 2006 Face The Promise]. Turns out Ride Out came out in October.
Has anyone heard it? The reviews sound upbeat, a mix of Rock, Southern Blues and Country, with a few covers.

The album release was getting zero coverage around the Detroit area just before it came out. He ended up giving a really big donation to something around here and called all the news outlets to cover it just to get on the air. He just is not all that relive R around here anymore. And no, Ive never heard even one song. Don't think any of the local channels are playing it

I did hear him say it's harder to get airplay on the radio nowadays. I'll be getting the album, his music keeps getting better and better.

It's not completely new, but I just caught Taylor Swift's "Style" music video on Music Choice. I was wondering if anyone else thought the music sounded somewhat familiar.
It makes me think of The Who's "Eminence Front". Yes, "Eminence Front" is Rock, and "Style" is pure Pop, but sounds like a toned down Pop version of "Eminence Front". Of course almost all songs sample songs from the past.
Even when Taylor starts singing with the word "Midnight..." it makes me think of how "Eminence Front has that one/two word start, I can't remember the first words of "Eminence Front" right now though. I'd have to restarte this post if I go Google it. :P

Recently I saw one of the nude pics Demi Lovato posed for in Vanity Fair on another site [what an ass on her!!! :o ], and Googled her to find more pics from the layout.
I read that the article the pics are from is called Confident, to promote her new single of the same name.
Well I put on Music Choice On Demand tonight, and under Brand New This Week, I saw the music video listed. I had to check it out.
It was far from what I expected. It was like a mini-movie [yes, I know all music videos are], and featured Jeff Fahey and Michelle Rodriguez. Cool!
I won't give away the "storyline", but I couldn't help thinking both of them were in Machete, written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Well when the music video ended, it said it was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez! :P Go figure.
Great music video, you should check it out.

I saw the new Queensryche music video for the song "Guardian". I'd heard the new Queensryche album was to have a classic Queensryche sound, and this song sure does. I really liked it.
Aside from that, I noticed either the new singer was lipsyncing to Geoff Tate vocals, or Queensryche found a guy who sounds exactly like Geoff Tate. I don't care, though. His vocals are great. Check it out if you haven't seen/heard the music video/song.

In 2010, I saw my first Iron Maiden music video for "The Final Frontier". I really dug the song and music video. Admittedly at the time I knew nothing about their mascot Eddie, so didn't understand why the human lost to the "monster"... D'oh!
I got to see their new music video "Speed Of Light" and really liked that one as well. Eddie seems to get digitized and sucked into cyberspace, where he seems to be playing in "old school" video games, though each video game has a newer style than the previous. Good job on this one.

Not that new, but with personal updates.
I meant to post this yesterday but was too busy with work and stuff. First of all, back in December I was in one of the Groups on FB and heard some from the UK say she just received the new Def Leppard CD as a gift. That got me really excited and I asked her about. She said she hadn't even opened it yet.
So I went on Google and found out some awesome stuff on several #1 chart debuts on Billboard and was able to get the albums track list. I had one of those rare opportunities that day to get on YouTube and listened to eleven of the fourteen new tracks. All EXCELLENT and Hard Rocking.
So two days ago I go and put on Music Choice On Demand, and found they had added Def Leppard's music video for "Let's Go" and it kicks ass! Some special effects, Lep playing "live" [sort of], a really cool video.
But Music Choice also had added David Bowie's "Blackstar". I found it haunting and hypnotic at the same time.
Then yesterday several other David Bowie music videos were added.

I got to see "Lazarus" [also haunting and hypnotic] and "Where Are We Now?" from 2013. Great stuff.

Music Choice just added a new Lady Gaga music video this week, "Perfect Illusion". I love how Lady Gaga's voice sounds in here, so sexy... She got an angry Rocker chick vibe going on here, and the soung does kind of Rock, not to mention Lady Gaga has several wardrobe changes throughout the music video, including wearing several pairs of short shorts that can't hide that ass of hers... -drools-

I don't really like modern music. I mostly listen to the rock gods 70's-90's, but there are a few modern artists who have gotten my attention. Lana Del Rey is one, I love a lot of her unreleased songs you can find on YouTube. Also strangely drawn to Rihanna's music.

Lady Gaga was actually influenced by a lot of the Rockers of that era as well.
While I do like some new Rock [and Pop, Country, Hip-Hop], I do prefer the late '70s to early '90s myself, as well as Jim Hendrix and The Doors. My favorite Rock group as always is Def Leppard, and my favorite solo artist as always is Rick Springfield.
