I could use some advice/moral support.

My oldest and second oldest daughters want to take my youngest daughter to the universities campus wide Halloween party. She is a fresh 18 year old, and while I have reservations about it, I want her to safely experience things. But my biggest and most naggy feeling is, the frats and Sororities are also having their parties, and I don't want her mixed up in that until she fully knows how to handle it. Bethany offered to tag along, since she will be attending in the winter and that makes me slightly more calm about it. But the issues is, my youngest is free, strong willed, but very naive when it comes to the world of adult parties. Because heaven and hell help whoever does her dirty, cause John Wick and Liam from Taken will have nothing on me. I trust her as much as a parent does, but its not her I do not trust, it is the world that I have no trust in. Mimi is going too, but still, this is worlds different from a high school party.

I would be hesitant. I grew up in a uni town. We partied with students since we started going out. It's different if you're innocent. And despite her sisters being there, it's not unrealistic to assume they could get easily distracted.

I would be hesitant. I grew up in a uni town. We partied with students since we started going out. It's different if you're innocent. And despite her sisters being there, it's not unrealistic to assume they could get easily distracted.

That's the rub. It would be so easy for her older sisters to get lost, leaving two girls alone with someone who is not used to a university. Bethany only attended a local college, so being from a small town its almost like it would be feeding time for predators at the human zoo and three naive morsels are on the menu. Wife suggested we could tag along, but I don't want to be that father.

Now with date rape around and other chemicals I'd want to lock my 20 somethings.

I was president of my college fraternity. I served as chapter advisor for a number of years, and was on the board of directors. My son also pledged a college fraternity. And he is president of his chapter this year.

An 18-year-old highschooler has no business at a fraternity party. That is a recipe for disaster. If you love your daughter, just be an asshole, and say no. The life you save may be her own.

Yeah, I suspected that might be the case so I called my oldest and told her that her sister cannot go near the frats and Sisters houses. And she has to be home by 10:30, as thats when the main campus party ends for the community. Oh and my wife and I will be going separately from them, I as Gluttony, and her as Lust, since our friend offered to help make our costumes. Though we plan to stay out of their line of sight, I just have this hugely bad feeling that I cant shake off. Lifetime movies spooked me about this, and I want her to grow as an adult, and make her own choices and mistakes, but not have them thrust upon her.

I offered to take her and her group of friends to the party since there is safety in numbers. She accepted, so that calms me a little. Now she is in a tiff with her friends on who will be Harley Quinn, and is now mad at me for suggesting she go as Poison Ivy, since the costume is sexy, and tasteful. Or someone can go as Black Canary and Huntress and Talia. I mean DC and Marvel has a wide selection of sexy female hero's and anti hero's. That idea got some thought as she invited her friends over to pour through my comic book collection and got a huge NOPE when she went for my Heavy Metal Magazine collection. 18 is still too young for that level of sexy, no matter what the law, God, and society at whole says.

That said, young “innocents” are frequently targeted at Greek and other parties, and seldom a semester goes by without reports of sexual assault, rape, or death occurring. You have booze, weed, roofies, and fentanyl being passed around. A young girl can easily find herself victimized. Sexy costumes are not an invitation to be attacked, but I would insist taking a low setting on the sexy dial.  She’ll be in college herself soon and can do whatever she wants. But I would encourage safety first. Sounds like you’ve got things in hand.

Second oldest suggested seriously for the group to carry those personal alarms, and wear a name tag that says "JB, illegal" So my wife went to the mall to buy a stun gun for my daughter. But oldest emailed me a map of the campus and I said they should just stay clear of Greek row. But for the sexy, my wife stepped in and will be handling it.
