Its switch fro rain to snow back to rain, and is now doing both. The roads are horrendous. Was planning on just staying home, but had to run to the post office yesterday and they were probably the worst I've ever remembered.

The funny thing though was there was a dodge charger stuck in the parking lot. Not because it was buried in snow, but because it was so slick, his rear will powerhouse was just spinning its tires.  Along comes me tucked into my heated seats with my all wheel drive v6 dodge charger and just easily went around him. Went inside came back out, and he was still there with a few guys trying to push his car up the slope into a parking spot. I drove by slow, and he looked right at me. I was smiling so big. I wanted to go ask if he wanted to race

My wife's 4-4-2 would do that. Pull up to a stop light when the streets were wet and when the light turned green, if you gave it any gas, the rear wheels would just spin. That car had a lot of power.

While this is more geological than meteorological, there was an earthquake here today around 10:30 am. The epicenter was in New Jersey, the magnitude was 4.8, and it was felt from Boston to Washington DC.

I was down in the basement doing laundry at the time, and I could feel the floor shaking under my feet. It lasted about 30 seconds, and then subsided. When I got back up to my apartment and opened the door, Theo was sitting there staring at me with a weird look on his face, and then he immediately started racing around the apartment at full speed.

I don't know if Theo is a cat or a dog or an goldfish but sounds like he was worried about you and the zooming was his way of showing the glee you returned. Pets get concerned. One night, while cooking bacon, smoke set off the apartment alarm and in an instant, my pup was jumping on my leg.

When we had dogs as pets, every time the smoke alarm went off, the dog would head for the door that led to the back yard. I can imagine what the shrill sound of the alarm did to their ears.

MissB - besides an earthquake, isn't your area being hit with a snow storm?

You're right, I should have mentioned that he's a cat.

And you're also right, he clearly knew that something was up.

So glad you and the kitty are OK.

Be sure to give Theo extra skritches behind his ears. Don't know if that will help him, but it works for me.

Even though it was mild as earthquakes go, it can be disconcerting. Many years ago, on our first trip to Mexico (1989) wife and I had just finished, ahem, well ya know we were younger and did what people do ...

After finishing we settled in to go to sleep. I felt the bed start to shake. I asked the wife what was she doing. She said nothing and what are you doing.

By the time we realized it was a small tremor it was all over.

86° today. Ugh. Dry line moved through with a lot of wind. I just washed all the dirt off my car today. Hope I don’t need another wash tomorrow. Clouds in the forecast for Monday’s eclipse.

Woke up this morning to light rain that has continued most of the day. It's a real good soaking rain. I looked out.the window and I can see green grass starting to peel through last year's dead brown stuff. Yes spring!

Today turned out beautiful. Sunny and mid 50’s. Lit the fire pit  and a cigar and  enjoyed the sun while sipping a bourbon.

Also cut up a bunch of wood into smaller pieces in hopes of a nice weekend next week

Amid all the excitement about the eclipse today across the world as usual. Minneapolis has cloudy skies with no chance of seeing anything. It seems like any major astronomical event is like a general call out for cloudy skies here.

May top out at 80 degrees today. Think it's safe to say our non -winter is over. May be time to break out my shorts and show off my fish belly white legs.

The rehab center where the wife is has an inner courtyard somewhere. Going to find that and push wifey out for some fresh air.

Bob, we will be getting near 80 on Sunday. Today will be sunny and low 70s.

Fresh air will do your wife good, after being cooped up in rehab.

Low 80’s with very gusty wind.

I saw the Masters has been brutal with high winds and hard greens. Can’t imagine playing in those conditions. Only 14 of the 89-player field sat under par after 36 holes. Tiger Woods did make the cut, for a record setting 24th time.

Our rare April spring weather has brought us  real spring rain storms. Actually a few have been rumbling through. Yep... rumbling with growls  and loud claps of thunder.

The buds on the trees and bushes are showing signs of opening soon too.

I was able to get out for my first walk in a week, a week where the temperatures were in the 70s and 80s, and what was the temperature this morning? 36 with a wind chill of 28. But it was sunny.  8)
