I may be red-faced next week, but not from blushing.

More triple digit days ahead in our forecast.

Most unusual.

WOO!  Always glad to bring  heat and humidity to parts south of the equator. ❤

Purpleshoes- triple digits is very rare around us also. An occasional 90 happens.

We had the briefest of sprinkles yesterday, but it is only supposed to go to 96° F today. Which is a relief, very long streak of hundred plus temperatures.

This is definitely a summer of records. We were mid 90s for a while last week, but when that storm came through it cooled off quite a bit. Stepping outside in 57° weather is a bit of a shock, but somehow still manages to be humid...

Got a bit of rain this morning. Added to the brief rain a couple days ago. There's now some bits of green grass among the brown. The weeds continue to do well adding to the green in my lawn. Hasn't been mowed since end of June. Minneapolis is still considered to be in draught condition.

Mid June, raise you mower deck to 4%u201D.  Don%u2019t cut any lower.  Cut once a week max. The length adds shade to the roots and soul.  Only water once every 4 days, but give it a lot so it soaks down into the soil.
My lawn is the greenest on the block and I water less than anyone.  And no nitrogen in the summer. You want to slow its growth.

My neighbors took over mowing my lawn last year. That's in addition to shoveling snow in winter. Oh, giving me rides to ER and picking back up again. Getting groceries when I'm not able.

Have I mentioned I have good neighbors.

No...highways and streets are ribbons of death. Rules of the road and stop signs mean nothing but a suggestion. As for pulling out when the light turns green... count to ten first

But out of the car most are friendly and caring. Go figure????

It is a chilly 72 outside right now but plenty of sun. The doggos are loving it.

We are almost to our forecast high of 26C today. I'm expecting a little warmer than that considering it's not quite noon yet. The bothersome part is the 9/10 cloud cover. How the hell am I going to maintain my golden brown and delicious all over tan with that kind of cloud cover?

That is all.

Was sitting out early this afternoon reading my astronomy magazine, getting some more sun, when out of the blue, clouds and then a sudden downpour of rain. I got completely soaked before I reached my door. I was wearing green gym shorts and a black sports bra, so no worries about indecency if you all are wondering. I try to avoid bikinis while sunbathing at home.

I did miss put on the landscapers mowing the lawn earlier today. They are quite a cute pair.

This happened to me yesterday.  Outside.  Sunny. reading my Kindle. I dozed off.  I felt the first drop and then it let loose on me.  I got up and rushed insid, just 15 feet.  Soaked.

10 minutes later Dan came back from the store, he was 1 mile south, not a drop.

Today is sunny and beautiful, but I'm not trusting anything. I'm going to bring an umbrella if I lay out today 🤣

Same, it was pretty yesterday here, until 3pm then it got dark, and rainy. I was upset as I wanted to go swimming after work.

HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HEAT INDEX VALUES ACROSS THE COASTAL PLAINS AND INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR TODAY...

Hot afternoon temperatures in the upper 90s to near 104 degrees are forecast today. The heat along with humid conditions will also produce afternoon heat indices in the 105 to 108 degree range. Individuals planning to spend prolonged periods of time outside should drink plenty of water, wear light colored and loose-fitting clothing and take frequent cooling breaks in shaded or air conditioned spaces. Never leave children and pets unattended in vehicles!

Forecast high is 101° here. God awful.

I agree, i used to be young and dumb, loving the heat and sun, working in it and feeling "Manly" but as I got older, I realized how fucking stupid I was in my youth. all time outdoors in the sun got me was freckles on my body, and a skin cancer scare. Though I do love yard work and gardening, my old ass has a easy up tent to use when I am working, and I bought the cover attachment for my riding lawnmower. I cannot complain much, since I live in satans asshole of the south. But nothing a cold glass of sweet iced tea, and some cool shade cant fix. Though I am trapped in an office, pining for the old days of the shovel and sledgehammer, shirtless working in the heat and sun. But be safe, my friend it is no joke. Used to hear stories of court being cancelled due to it being too hot inside.
