Or "up nort'" as much dad says.
"Up North" is a thing here also. I think it's just a midwest thing. New Yorkers say "upstate", right?
And yes, I know you spelled 'nort' that way on purpose. I know a couple here that do also older gentlemen.
Just love how you southerners talk about up north. In Quebec, anything 20 miles north of Montreal is considered northern Quebec. Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay. are considered Northern Ontario. Yet, all of these locations are south of the 49th Parallel which is the southern border of Alberta where I am. Here, we don't really talk about north and south much. When talking directions, we say "out West" and "down East". All of this is southern climes in relation to the location of CFS Alert, Nu which is 82 degrees, 30 minutes North latitude (most northerly permanently inhabited settlement on the planet).
As for weather today, woke up to -10C with a forecast high of +10C later this afternoon. No snow on the ground yet. Which is fine by me. The snow can fall on 12 November. Why that date? Because Mrs JBRG and I are leaving here for Mexico on the 10th.
