Bad Thunderstorms over night.
Lots of trees down along the road to the farm.
Power is still on, Internet was down but now back up.
Rained like crazy. The nice thing is barn is high and dry.
We must have gotten a little over 2&1/2 inches in less than 20 minutes, and the storm was completely over in 30 minutes.

Love,
Liz

It's Texas, hot and humid. Now we have summer.

Sitting here watching the All-Star game (AL leading 5-2).

It seems like a late fall evening here.    Wind gusts bending some trees.   Patio furniture in the pool.  Wind howling.   Neighbors car alarm going off for the 3rd time in the past 3 hours.  Wind howling through the trees.

I woke up to thunder rumbling.  Now it's sprinkling.  I hope we get a healthy downpour.

Looks like a beautiful day. Sunny, high 70's and low humidity.  Maybe blow off work a couple hours early and go for a nice bike ride. Too bad I cant do it naked!

I have hopes of going to a kinky camp-out Saturday night.  But rain is forecast.

Hoping your camp-out worked out for you today, Lois.

SE Michigan under heat advisory.   Seriously?   It's been 70-80's for 2 months.   This is called summer, weatherman.

Heat wave warnings here in Torontostan. The pan am games athletes have been advised to cover up and drink lots of water (athletes need to be told shit like this?).

Anyway, it's my favourite weather. It is a Corona day!!!!!

While you're waiting in vain for that apology, why don't you make yourself useful by getting on your knees and opening your mouth

It was 102 degrees today.
Hot enough to keep the horses in the barn and under fans to stay somewhat cool.
This is a weird summer....from lots of rain to now scorching heat.

Love,
Liz

I have hopes of going to a kinky camp-out Saturday night.  But rain is forecast.

We had scattered showers, but it was a beautiful weekend.

The Pacific hurricane that was predicted to impact us spun its moisture off to the west.  Palm Springs & Indio were inundated.  A flash flood took out an overpass on the I-10.  Now the I-10, the major route connecting Phoenix to Los Angeles, is closed indefinitely just outside of Indio.  Traffic is being re-routed through the I-8 to San Diego.

Oh, THAT bites!  I've taken that route a BUNCH of times myself.  It was also a heavy trucking route to supply Phoenix with all of the stuff that came in from overseas, as the LA basin is a much bigger port area than San Diego is.

It's been teasing around 100 here in Dallas for a couple of weeks, but all things considered it's still fucking hotter in Phoenix.  To those of you that say "yeah, but it's a DRY heat": please, TRY it yourself sometime in July when it's 115 to 128 in Phoenix.  They broke a record around 20 years ago for the maximum number of days in a row where the LOW temperature at night never fell below 100F.  That's not the kind of record you want to break.  My air conditioner NEVER FUCKING STOPPED during those 10 (?) days.  I had an electric attic fan to exhaust heat out of the attic when the air temp in the attic was over 140F, and it didn't shut off until about 3 or 4 AM during that period.

Luckily Phoenix hasn't had one of those killer July record-breakers for a while.

Remember the Golden Rule: you do me, and I\'ll do you (paraphrased)

WINTER IS COMING!!!
No, not "Game of Thrones"...Minnesota.  This is what I saw the other day at the airport by their maintenance buildings.

Yes, their snow removal equipment.  It was such a relief last spring when I saw over a dozen of these monsters lined up, no doubt to be put "to bed" for the summer.  Now they're coming out again and the snow won't be far behind.

Meanwhile we're sweltering in upper 80s to low 90s with high humidity.  Next week tho' livable weather will return.

Well trained and been made compliant....by my cat Neville
