Yeah, I see it headed this way.  You can just see it popping up at the bottom of the GIF below:



It could (mostly) blow out by the time it gets here, since the sun is already down.  If it'd been a full-scale hurricane and not a measly little tropical storm, I'd be prepping for heavy weather, but that doesn't even look as bad as the NORMAL ugly shit we get here.  Just some heavy rains for several hours as it blows by.

Yes it does, Nicole. Mid 80s, some humidity, bright sun and blue skies would be ideal for me.  Unfortunately, those days have been rare around here.  Rain and more rain, thanks to those wonderful people in Texas sending it up north....... ;D

The weather forecasts aren't saying anything about it, but it could get ugly in Dallas when those two storm systems merge, RIGHT OVER DALLAS.  One moving South, the other (scattered thunderstorms) moving NNE.


Right now it's hot and shitty, feels like 105F with ALL the humidity!  ;D

Just remember that climate change has been going on over millennia. That it usually takes centuries to happen or a catastrophic natural event is irrelevant, climate change is NOT Human induced, regardless of the timeframe.

Attended a German Festival in a neighboring city this weekend.   Great weather with a bit of sprinkle at one point.  Bands played some German songs, Lin learned to dance to it pretty well.

Sterling Heights was this weekend.   We don't do the Frankenmuth (last weekend) any longer, too crowded.   I do attend Frankenmuth for the Octoberfest, though.

For anyone in the Dallas area, stay the hell away from the Grapevine Mills Mall area and parts North of there.  Apparently Grapevine Lake has grown beyond it's boundaries and flooded FM2449, which has the traffic ALL jacked up in that area for a couple of miles.  I mistakenly tried to go that way this morning, and FUCK ME TO TEARS took an hour to get OUT of the area.  Reports are it's gonna be that way for a MONTH, as there's no natural outflow from Grapevine Lake other than one tiny creek (Denton Creek).  Who the flaming fuck designed it THAT way???

There's an apartment complex right there where the flooding is at... gawd only knows how THOSE poor bastards are getting in and out.

Looks like there's only a day or two of rain in the extended forecast, but that's always a Wild-Assed Guess here in Texas.  Anything further out than 12 hours is pure hocus-pocus.

Tucson, Arizona

Monsoon season is due to hit Tucson any day now.  For Arizona this is when moisture from the Gulf of Mexico overwhelms the high pressure system prevailing from the west.  It has come about a week early this year.

We had a mild spring, and had lower than normal temperatures for May.  In past summers triple digit temps start in May.  This year we hit our first triple digit temps at the end of May, then back to the 90's.
 
The dark clouds moved in today, threatening rain, but none came.  Rain is forecast for Monday.

Thursday Morning and it's looking good.
Bright sun, very few clouds and the temperature is right around mid 80's for the day.
Friday it's suppose to rain......It's making it a real problem to cut and bring hay in.

We got our first rains the night after I wrote this.  We've had rain about every other day since.

Last night we had a cloudburst that pelted us with hailstones the size of ping-pong balls until all the streets were covered with ice.  I feared for my chickens, but I had to wait until it was over for my own safety.  Fortunately they found shelter on the east side of the garage, under the eves.

The winds were coming from the west.  Neighbors reported broken windows on the west side of their homes.  The cars seem okay, although the aluminum frames around the windows are all dented.
