We've already blown past winter, forgotten early spring and are toying with day-time highs that are more common for average high temps in late May.  It's eighty-stinkin'-one degrees here in the shade!   :o

And nary a drop of water to be had. On his show last night, Bill Maher had a leading scientist explain the dire water shortage facing your state. He could not understand that no one seems to be upset about it.

But I will take your 81 degrees in the shade and you can have our sunny, 22 degrees.  8)

That is indeed the question.  Why no one (or few) are even slightly concerned about it.  I have my theories.  And it all points to the idiots who call themselves leaders of the great state of California.  Our population has about doubled since the mid 1970s when we had our last big, huge ugly 3-year drought.  But even though the population doubled not one new water storage/collection project has been added to our water system.  Short sighted money grubbing buffoons are bankrupting the state, not attending to our infrastructure but Boy! do they have grand projects and gifts for everyone—if we don't die of thirst first.

I & the family have been really saving water since last spring.  It bugs me to no end to see city & state facilities wasting water on landscaping (daily flooding the gutters etc.) all the while telling us to save water.  I could also point to the media which has barely reported on the problem except as a distant, back page footnote.

<end rant />

In Texas, Spring is a state of mind. Our spring is a week of alternating days of winter and summer. Welcome to Texas.

What a nice April Fools Day.  Temps soared into the low 80s.  Yes, I'm still in Minnesota.  The summer like day was capped with a rip-roaring thunderstorm in the evening.  Really made it feel like summer.  We've often skipped spring and gone from winter to summer, but usually end of May or June.

Of course it's not going to last.  Back in the 50s today and 40s for Friday.  Normal temps, which is good.  We were still having snow storms last year up into May.

Well trained and been made compliant....by my cat Neville

It must be fucking spring because I was outside enjoying the sunshine on my face. The air was cool, but the sun was warm and I was listening to some relaxing music on iTunes radio when I felt a drop on my head. I look up and see a little bird on a low hanging branch and sure enough the little fucker had shit in my hair lol. Despite that I am still having a great day, I've been in Lala Land most of the day thanks to a wonderful dream I had last night and the fucking weather is still amazing. ^_^

SE Mich under tornado watch.

On my way to lunch I heard the guy on the radio say, "Nobody needs to be a hero and get footage of any tornado, should one present itself.   Don't be an idiot.  Take cover please."

MMmmm, a hot summer means less clothes. Pictures Liz wearing a halter top and short shorts, riding on one of her horses. 8)

Watcher, you're a pervert.

Today is wet, again. In the last two weeks, Lake Lewisville has gone from 8 feet below level, to six feet of flood level. They are releasing water to keep it from overflowing.

The north Texas drought is over.

We haz water!

Even Lake Medina is up to 5.1% of capacity!  LOL.

Too bad you cant send some of that water to California, they sure can use it!
