Left 81 degrees in Phoenix this morning and returned to 39 here in Texas.

Staci,

Most of the West is sans Winter because the East stole it from us.  >:(
LOL
Out here on the Cali-coast we're in the midst of late Spring with hardly a drop of rain.  And we here about all the precipitation back East and ask, "Share?"

If it gets much drier, I'm changing my name to Bodie.
In honor of Bodie, CA—a Ghost Town in the Eastern Sierras:

Sorry, watcher.  I missed your question the first time around.
I've been to Squaw Valley.  Closer to the Vast Reaches of the Bay Area.

Mid 40's today after Mid 50's yesterday.  Snow is melting, only about 2 feet to go except for the mountains in parking lots, figure they will be there until mid April at least.  But now I can finally get to my Hot Tub again!  :sign_yayness:

Snow pretty much gone here, not that we got that much this year.  Just a few patches in shady spots.

Temps up in the 50s, with maybe 60s tomorrow.  Pleasant change from last year.

Hoping those of you who got hit hard this year are getting a break now.

Here We Go Again....
Friday Calling for Snow, not just a little but a lot of it.
NOAA is saying "now" NW NJ could get upto 8" or more.
South Jersey is suppose to get around 6" starting right around 6AM.
I should start seeing snow right around 10AM and continue all day.
At least I'll be able to clean the barn and turn the horses out (snow storm be damned),
Before the snow hits. Oh well, I guess spring is just a dream (right now).
 :D
Love,
Liz

I would say, I'll swap you, but "naw" I've seen enough rain for now.
Good luck staying dry.
I'll be in Houston on Tuesday to move 6 horses to Brazil.
C-ya.....

Toe, I saw that article and in our local paper they added that our area experienced its coldest February ever, plus on of the snowiest ever.  Go figure.

Our area had our coldest winter ever and I do remember hearing something about a few of the months being record cold also.

Not as much snow as last year but them temps were a bitch this year.

After above freezing temps for some weeks, we got snow last night.  The weather guy was saying six to eight inches in Metro area.  I only saw a couple inches, maybe three.  I know a lot melted when it first started.  Don't know how the weather people measure that.

Heavy wet snow.  As one forecaster described it, "heart attack" snow.  As someone approaching 70, that's gotten to be a concern.  Looking out the front window at 5 AM, the front sidewalk was already cleared.  Yea!  Great neighbors!  I took care of the rest easily.  Driveway...ha.  God put it there, he can take it away!

Most the snow is gone again, even tho' temps only in the mid 30s last few days.  By the weekend it warms up with projections for the next week to be in 50s and 60s.  Ahhhhhhhhhh...spring, maybe.

Two signs that winter is nearly done for us "up north".  The ice is declared out on Lake Minnetonka, largest metro area lake.  And, the first river tow boat has reached St. Paul.  Navigation is open on the Mississippi.  Last couple years the shipping season was cut short with late thaws.

Wind came howling down the plains last night.  Temperatures in the low 80's yesterday.  Low 60's today.  Meanwhile that north wind keep howling...

I think phtlc is sending his cold air down upon all of us in the US... ;D

Spring is here, 77°!  Bluebonnets are out in the Texas Hill Country.

I always get a flashback to the 1970s' ads whenever a Texan talks about the bluebonnets in the Texas Hills.  Absolutely lovely, toe!

We've already blown past winter, forgotten early spring and are toying with day-time highs that are more common for average high temps in late May.  It's eighty-stinkin'-one degrees here in the shade!   :o

And nary a drop of water to be had. On his show last night, Bill Maher had a leading scientist explain the dire water shortage facing your state. He could not understand that no one seems to be upset about it.

But I will take your 81 degrees in the shade and you can have our sunny, 22 degrees.  8)

10 AM and the sun is making it feel like 60 here in southern KS.

Windows open, curtains drawn! Get a looksie.
