It's like minus 10 degrees here now.
The snow moved on...we got 6-7 inches (SNOW).
But today is a beautiful sunny day here.
Just cold as hell....!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just lit a couple of candles in my greenhouse, trying to save my tropicals :(

It might dip below 20F here tonight. Yuk.

Yesterday we started out at 14 below, closing many schools again.  Warmed up to minus 5 by afternoon.  Warm air came in overnight and it's 13 above at 5 AM, CST, heading for a high in the 30s.  Sounds good, but long range forcasts from Saturday call for single digit highs until the first of Feb.  Something we in Minnesota have clothes for and can handle.  I feel for you in the south where freezing temps are rare.  Bundle up!

We're at 4° now and heading to a high of 15 today. Wind gusts over 50 mph. Schools closed.

well hell toe, they need to come here where it's really cold and get a taste.

We have hit a big 6° and the wind is up around 40-50 mph gusts. Snow blowing at any opening it can find. Roads are a mess from the blowing. Water mains broke everywhere.

Candles in the greenhouse, great idea... will that put out enough heat?

No greenhouse here, have some potted small trees, which are supposed to handle DC winters. First year outside for the Avocado, spent last year and a half inside until last Spring. We rescued it when it was so cold last storm, not sure if we got it in time, and will spend the rest of Winter in the LR, South facing light.

Pulled 6 Columnar Apple trees inside for the last storm, then decided they need to make it on their own, and they have been out in this latest frigid temp spell, will find out in the Spring. Lime and Lemmon trees are safely in a South facing light area, indoors for the season, along with peppers and other veggies.

Let us know how your tropicals do. All our trees were to handle 18F, but this year has been so much colder.

I don't know if the candles will do the trick - its all I could think of ... but I'll try :D DH travels a lot and I can't move most of them by myself anymore - so he built me a greenhouse to make up for his absence ... well, you know, for the heavy lifting absence anyway ;)

Just to look at a horse a client "wants" to buy for 90,000 dollars.

Damn, Liz.  Even Minnesota people don't go to Fargo in the winter.  Remember when you dress, loose and in layers.  Have the pilot "waggle" the plane's wings when you pass over Minneapolis.  I may be out taking pictures of ice sculptures at the Winter Carnival.

What amazes me is that why on earth would anyone keep a 90,000 dollar horse in Fargo ND.???
Then "why" would I be crazy enough to travel up here just to appraise it for a client to buy.......They say the Gods are crazy, well, I'm right behind them then.
This is cold beyond belief...Further, we can't look at the horse nor travel until Wednesday afternoon as on Tuesday the "high" is only going to be -50F.
Who the fuck lives in this??
