That has been the kind of rains we have been getting here all summer.  Our streets have flooded more this summer then in at least ten years combined, if not more.  Not only that, today feels like October, overcast with a cold north wind blowing strong.

My city rec'd 4.5" of rain yesterday afternoon/evening.   Detroit appx 5".   WTH?
Usually 40 minutes to get home from work.   2.5 hours last night.   1 hour 45 minutes to get in this morning.   All major expressways have closings at some spot.   I drive all of these roads...

At least you live downriver, as I remember. Warren is sitting underwater for the most part.

Yep, leaves showing first sign of change.  We got by with only 2 - 90 degree days this summer....so far.  Been in the 80s, but very humid.  Might as well been 90.  After running the air for several days straight, we woke up
this AM to temps in the upper 50s.  Could feel my little balls start to shrivel when I went out to get the paper.

I know there's still lots of warm days left, but, Winter's coming...and I not talking about Thrones.

Today windy.  62 and chilly. Our summer is too short.

I agree.  This summer had to be one of the rainiest for us. And we had very few 90 degree days. Let's hope the winter will be warmer and less snowy.

Nice the last couple days.  Low humidity, temps in 70s with lows at night in low 60s.  Couple days of hot and humid Wed. & Thur. but those days will be fewer and farther as the days get shorted.  It won't be long before we can snivel and whine about the cold weather up here again.

Beastly day yesterday after most of the week being mild.  Temps were in upper 80s and with very high humidity.  Atmosphere pressed you right in the ground outside.  Woke up this morning to 59 degrees and stiff breeze out of the NNW.  A big enough change to shrivel the old sack.

Biggest clue to the change....got home from the dog park and both cats were snuggled together in my chair, something they only do in cold weather.  Ahhhhh, the shared body heat season.  Love it!!!

Msslave - hope you keep those 50s up your way for at least another month or two.  We were at 90 today until some severe T-storms rolled through late afternoon to bring our temps into the 70s.

I'm not sure what this bodes for the weather, but I'll report it.  Went about 60 miles north of the Cities yesterday.  Both going up and coming back, I saw several vehicles with snowmobiles heading north.  I don't know how far north they were going, or what weather forecast they listened too, but the only snow I know of is near the arctic.  Don't think the roads go that far.  Could be another polar vortex sign.  The squirrels do seem to have bushier tails now too.  Just say'n.

Msslave - it will be your job to stop any snow from heading south of the Twin cities, at least until maybe Christmas time.... Of course, the snow can skip the Midwest entirely and land softly in places like Texas....or Arizona....

600 miles to the North it snowed at Calgary. First time for the season.

1000 miles to the South at Phoenix they got record rain fall. 3.38 inches at my cousins.

Here its cooling down. Windy as we move toward fall. 68 degrees.

Bloody depressing. Hot and humid all last week...fri night storms came thru knocking night temps to 50s and also knocking out power to 360k around Detroit. My apt was one of those. Power restored abt 54 hours later...today at noon.

This cold snap seems to have triggered fall changes in trees...several already changing. May not like heat and humidity.. But don't want winter even worse... :(

It does in the winter, frequently.  Not so much in late summer.  Hang tight for January.

Low 90s in Dallas, temps to hit 97 or 98 for a couple of days, then drop to mid-80s or lower by the weekend.  Cold front, woo hoo!

That storm Friday was rated as the 10th worst storm ever in the Detroit area by DTE.

As for the changing tree colors, we've been seeing that for awhile now. Last month in the UP we were talking about how the fall ride up will probably be to late for colors as a lot of the trees along the E-way were already changing. And this was early August
