I on the other hand, look on the coming of summer with trepidation. Drought, high heat, just how long can the power last and keep the A/C running?

No, but when the warm or hot and humid weather comes I enjoy it.  Sure beats the cold and snowy days we get any day.  These old bones cannot take cold.

We went up to 105 F today.  It will be triple temperatures now through the beginning of July.  (That's 40.5 C)

I have been down your way at the end of September when temps were daily in the triple digits.  But it is a dry heat...lol

went from complaining about snow 4 weeks ago to complaining about heat
Truly enjoyed the 4weeks of spring
Looking forward to the 3 weeks of fall in September

You people who have spring should be more thankful.

We go from winter directly into summer here. 3 months of some rain, uncomfortable windy and cold days, to 9 months of Hell's furnace.

Spring and fall take up about 7 days total.

I will gladly trade our winters for your summers.  Lately, Spring here also has gone from 40 degrees one day to 80 the next.  Fall here, though, are nice.

We not only went from winter to summer (80s and high humidity), the mosquito season is off and running with dense clouds of the little fuckers.  Not just people they're after either.  Got this shot of a loon this weekend being swarmed.

The mosquito is the state bird of Alaska.

80 degrees here today with a breeze that actually made it comfortable.
Spent the day riding horses and then bathing them.
Tommorrow the damn lawn mower comes out.!!!

Is the state bird of Minnesota the loon, or the mosquito?  I forget.  LOL.
Yes, Minnesota state bird is the loon.  Our state insect is the tick.  So, we are the state of Loon a Ticks.

Msslave - how are those pesky deer flies up your way?  They were/are worse than mosquitoes in my opinion.

None in the Cities.  "Up North", really bad.  The wildlife refuge, where I take most my pictures, is a real trial.

Indian Boundary waters and the wolf refuge are great places in the northern part of your state.

First, never ending cold and piles and piles of snow.  Now heat, humidity and rain, rain, rain.  Lots of flooding all over the state.

Starting to think someone up there hates us.

We need that water in Texas. Send it here, not to Mississippi!

Maybe we could route the Mississippi through Texas?
