This is not a photo shopped set of images. This is the real deal. I think this was in January.

Michigan has had the coldest winter in decades. Water expands to freeze, and at Macinaw City the water in Lake Huron below the surface ice was supercooled. It expanded to break through the surface ice and froze into this incredible wave.
This wave phenomena is seen in Antarctica, but in Michigan? Yes, it's been quite a winter!

Janus, just an FYI that these pictures go around each year stating it's up north. Unless you saw it or took them, they are not really from here

BTW, its almost 60F and sunny here today. I can actually see some grass showing through the snow in a few spots!  But maybe snow tomorrow night so we will see.

18°C (64F) yesterday and sunny. Walked around in T-shirt. Last year this time we were covered with glaciers and winter lasted till end of April, skipped spring and went straight to summer. This year we still haven't seen winter, maybe 10 nights with a bit of frostbite and well, it seems spring is here now. Trees are blossoming, flowers are shooting up from the soil. Boy, if all of a sudden it would start freezing now (and it still can till mid May) farmers are going to be so fucked.

Well let us hope that it doesn't freeze again for your farmers sake.

We finally got a bit of a break.  Sunday, 40.  Monday 50!!  Today 42.  Tomorrow 20.  Anyway a slow melt will prevent flooding.  Back to 40 Thur. & Friday.

Cats are happier.  Get to run up and down the sidewalk is all, but better than nothing.

Snowbanks still 2 - 3 cats high!!

LOL!

Be a snowbird and visit Arizona!  We've been in the 70's almost all winter long.  I sleep with the windows open!

Sunny with clouds this morning... to get as high as 70F by mid afternoon, then drop to 25F by this evening, with heavy thunderstorms, rain and gusty winds this afternoon and tonight.
Hopefully, all rain, no ice or snow.

Watcher had lots of rain, and then ice and 5" of snow overnight last night, and he sends his weather my way...

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

Starting to rain here now, but the temperature still isn't that bad, (around 55 degrees).
Tomorrow is gonna suck big time.......low temperature around 28 degrees with snow and everything else that comes with it. The snow is suppose to be 3+ inches.
Love,
Liz

Another below zero morning.  The near record snow we have will stick around for a while.

They say Eskimos have over a hundred words for snow.  Michiganders do to, but they all begin with the letters "F" or "G"!

I am like Charlie the Tuna.  I don't want women with good taste, I want women who taste good.
