Living in Fargo is a small step above living in a snow shelter above the arctic circle.

Being in Fargo is NOT living.  Sorry, that's just the way it is. >:(

So, anyway.  It's 15 above today in Minneapolis.  We headed on over to the St. Paul Winter Carnival.  Google it if you're interested.  Quite a mythology.  King Boris rules over winter and now the war has begun with attacks by Vulcanus Rex, the fire king and his Krewe.  So, winter may soon be over.  Yes, as I started to say we ventured out.  A brisk walk to the garage.  Drove to underground parking ramp and went to the annual cat show.  Now that's how to beat winter...surround youself with a lot of pussy(s).  I did venture out yesterday in single digit temps and took some pictures of the ice sculptures.  So, what's a little cold weather...big deal if you freeze a couple of toes off.  Spring will come and as it warms, maybe I'll even find my boy parts again.

A balmy -2 here, not including the wind chill, so RF, that 39 for today down by you looks like a heat wave to us.

Norwegian Icebreaker heads up the Mississippi River

As you may have seen on the news it's been very cold in Minnesota .
So cold, in fact, that the US Corp of Engineers has borrowed
a Norwegian Icebreaker to clear the Mississippi River for
freighter traffic. The Icebreaker is starting near Winona and
working its way northward. Here is a picture as the hard
work of ice breaking begins. Impressive!

It's 32° and sleet is falling.  Snow will be arriving this afternoon and we are expected to get anywhere from 3 to 6 inches.  Welcome to Georgia, lol.  To quote Gia....This is some fucked up shit!

It's been a warm winter here in Tucson Arizona.  We've usually had a couple of hard freezes by now but instead the bougainvilleas are still blooming.

A freeze is a good thing because it kills off the fleas, so usually our pets don't have fleas here.  But without a freeze I'll be buying flea killing stuff come spring.

Cheer up, Liz.  Just wait until spring.  It will warm up and the snow will melt.  So, stick around.  They could use some extra hands filling sand bags when the Red River floods.

Minneapolis is starting at minus 15.  Sunny tho' and should warm up to a nice round zero.  Tomorrow a high in the 20s...get to shed one layer of clothing.

Remember, share body heat.

Everyone can cheer up. You aren't in International Falls, MN, where it is -17 without windchill.

Yep. When it snows in the south, we shut down for a reason...

This is the Interstate close to Birmingham, AL today:

Right now its about 23C here. And for us that's on the cold side as we are used to a normal 32-34C on a daily basis.

Big warm up today.  May hit 21 F, and yes that's above zero.  Should be a good day for Liz to go look at expensive horse flesh.  I do feel for those of you in the south that got the snow and ice.  It's bad enough up here for ppl that are used to it.  Don't know how you cope, other than just stay at home.

GC, we Northerners do have a little sympathy for the South when you are hit by cold and snow.  Just a little.  8) 8)

Warming up here also today, to 15, then snow tomorrow and Saturday.

I hear Atlanta was flummoxed by two inches of snow.  Anyone here from there?  I guess they don't get snow that often.

Heat Wave Warning Toronto

Environment Canada has warned that despite the mild refreshing weather we have enjoyed for the past 6 weeks, temperatures around the GTA are expected to skyrocket to a high of -1 Celsius on Friday. Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid direct exposure to sunlight and drink plenty of fluids to remain hydrated. Anyone taking care of children or seniors is advised to supervise closely for signs of heat exhaustion or dehydration.

Anyone planning on spending time outside is advised to apply sun block of SPF 30 minimum

Updates on the current heat wave situation will occur by the hour

While you're waiting in vain for that apology, why don't you make yourself useful by getting on your knees and opening your mouth
