I have one final rant about the weather coverage.  This morning on "The Today Show", they had a reporter in Minneapolis.  She was two blocks from our house at Minnehaha Falls.  She tried to astound the viewers that due to the Polar Vortex, the falls were totally frozen.  "Lady, the falls freeze up every damn winter.  It will be end of April or sometime in May before all those huge chucks of ice melt.  So much for background study before reporting.  If it's outside of New York, those ppl seem clueless.



Ok, the trees did freeze.

We have winter here every year.  It always gets cold, it always snows and get icy.  Still the idiots persist and cause unnecessary accidents.  Traffic cam got video of a woman going too fast on a freeway ramp yesterday and she hit black ice.  Over the cement barrier she went, somehow only minor injurys.  So much for Darwin's therorys

51F and dense fucking fog all over the DFW Metroplex, with occasional light drizzling rain.

Driving home from work was purely a pleasure.  I saw remnants of 4 different multi-car wrecks due to the 200 to 500 foot visibility over most of the 35 mile drive home.  Downtown Dallas is up to a mile vis, but elsewhere it's like soup.  I was moving at 40-50MPH and getting passed by assholes in SUVs pushing 70 to 80.  That, plus some shithead in a loaded lowboy 18-wheeler lane-changed RIGHT through where I'd been a second earlier with no warning.  Luckily I have fantastic reaction time and missed turning into a stain.

Snow and Freezing Rain here right now.
The nice thing about NJ drivers (beyond the fact that they drive like idiots).
It that they have a very short memory span....Every winter it snows and every winter its a new learning curve for the idiots. (they drive like its summer all year long, and suddenly the snow comes, and they look at it like it's something they have never seen before). My neighbor (god bless his small minded brain, totaled out his corvette when he couldn't stop on a sheet of ice going 70 miles per hour..the car slid for approximately 400-700 feet, his excuse??...it always stopped before, "in the summer").
Apparently, Intelligence is not a requirement for a license in NJ.

We got about 12 inches of snow overnight, and this morning there's a crystal clear blue sky, and the thermometer's hovering around 5.

It's freeze-your-nose-hairs-off cold here today!
