Tragically, a young lady in Lewisville lost her life by losing control on ice because she feared losing her job as promised if she didn't come in.
Schools still closed in my area.

I could be wrong (but don't think I am), but if you are fired for refusing to drive when authorities advise you not to, than you have a case for "unlawful dismissal".  Plus it just shows you don't give a shit about your employees.

his Afternoon: Snow showers. High near 20. West southwest wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 22 by 1am. West southwest wind 8 to 14 mph.

I am guessing within ten years, if not sooner, Texas will go from being a Red state to a Blue state. Just think...no more Rick Perry.

We are in a heat wave today.  All of 20 degrees F.  Bad news is more snow for tonight and tomorrow.

41F and patchy dense fog in Dallas at 3am.

That "patchy dense fog" included visibility down to HOOD at one point on the 121 just north of the airport.  I had to slow down to 10mph and even that felt WAAAYYYY too fast for about a half mile strip there.  Daaayyyyyuuummmm!  (note: 'damn' can be pronounced with TWO syllables here in the South.)

I live right on the edge of a swamp wetlands and the fog was pretty thick when I got home.  The rest of the trip I was blowing along at 65mph and only needed to slow down a little when I crossed the Trinity river.

Small correction, Katiebee:  the "right to work" just means no Unions or very restricted Union presence.  The law that allows them to fire you for no reason whatsoever is called "at will".

Just finished snow blowing four inches of fresh snow and it is still snowing pretty heavy.  We have to get those people who keep wishing for a White Christmas to change their tune.....  Katie, I will gladly accept any 60 degree weather you wish to send up this way.8)

Tonight A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11. Wind chill values as low as -3. West wind 8 to 13 mph.

Sunday (the 15th).
Snow finally stopped this morning.....There is 8 inches of the white stuff covering the ground right now. From the inside it looks great, from the outside.....no comment.
Horses are loving it....racing around and rolling in it.

I fucking love snow!!! We got a couple inches last night, but by mid afternoon most of it melted away. Now we have a very thin covering. I want a white Christmas dammit!

And horses would be nice too!

Well Minneapolis set a new record for 24 hour change in temperatures.
Spring-like upper 40s yesterday....right now -3 with -30 windchills.
Nearly a 50 degree drop in temps.  And I'm still here....go figure.
