Scientists are thinking that warm weather will kill the C-19 virus, or, at least, slow up the spread considerably.  Seems with the temps down Texas way and the southwest, the virus will be greatly reduced.   8)

There is something called the Southern Hemisphere, where is is already fall.  The virus is global.  Summertime is not going to make this virus any less a threat, until we have a vaccine and treatment protocol.

Texas has almost zero testing available.  Despite this severe undereporting, we have 24,631 confirmed cases, including +436 new ones.  648 deaths, including +7 new ones.  13,997 active cases, and our Republican Governor has reopened businesses in the state.  Many are choosing to remain shuttered at this point.

I’m not an expert, but it seems like we are in for a big bounce in cases.  At least in red states.

Good luck Toe.  Here's hoping those that do go out protect themselves as much as possible.

Toe's never been through a Midwestern Summer. The blazing sun and heat kills everything. If it survives, it deserves to live.

It's going to go from chilly and rainy to humid and miserable in the blink of an eye.  Then people will stay inside just to avoid the mosquitos.

This past weekend was very nice, with temps in the high 70s, sunny and no wind. Shorts and T-shirt weather. Back to reality this morning, though. Windy and cold. Temp is 39F right now.

As a postscript-  Went to our local greenhouse to buy some plants and when I got to the cashier she suggested that I hold off planting until the weekend because there is frost and possible snow showers predicted for this week. Arghhhhh.

Cold and windy. Why can't we have cold and windy starting next month?

Mid 50s, low 60s for the next week. Oh how I dread the punishment that's coming.

Lows forecasted between 33F and 44F and highs 51F to 64F the next 8 days.  Pretty sure I need a warm gumbo and hot corn bread in there.

After some close to summer days and sunny skies, we have frost warnings for tonight. Maybe some snow later on too. And my neighbors laugh at me for keeping my snow shovel handy.

Memorial Day is when I finally celebrate the end of winter and carry the shovel to the garage with great pomp and ceremony. :emot_laughing:

Same here. Frost warnings for Friday and Saturday morning. Rule of thumb around here is not to plant annuals until Mother's Day but first nice day people start planting flowers.

I heard about a guy from Minnesota who got tired of the winters. He strapped his snow shovel to the front of his truck, headed south and didn't stop until someone pointed at the shovel and said, "What's that thing?"  :emot_laughing:

That's similar to what my dad used to say, only he was going to start walking south with a shovel over his shoulder.  Glad to see another variation. :D

It's snowing.   IT IS F#@&ING SNOWING.

December 25th it was 58 degrees here.

It is May 8th and 34 degrees.

Glad we opened the pool this week.
